2.8 carb value

i recently acquired a 1984 sport coupe. The engine seems to run fine and has most of the smog control systems intact. I do not have the tranny. my question is what is the engine with most of the accessories worth?

Re: 2.8 carb value

Its weight in scrap?

A few years back I saw a guy on craigslist trying to give away his perfect 2.8 carb v6. Free. I think he gave up after a few months.
2.8L efi seems to go for about $100. Almost bought a 3.4 the other day for $200.

lol u prolly couldnt give it away , build a go cart and stuff that carb 2.8 on it

im not a v8 basher or anything , but if ur thinking about doing this swap with a jy engine or some other smog era 350 be prepared to be dissapointed in the performance u get out of it for the money u spent.
the only stock v8 really worth swapping in would be of the vortec variety, atleast then u have a set of halway decent heads on the engine and with a good cam and intake u can make some good power

probably , when i was younger i turned a vw bug into a go cart basically just the floorpan with a roll cage ,didnt even have brakes, thing was a blast, eventually it just about folded itself in half from the lack of support, wasnt a whole lot i could do about it as the thing was a pile of rust when i got it
