best trans for me v6?
How is it going? I know I should probably ask this in the trans board but I wanted more specific ideas to me v6, I currently have a non wc t5, my motor is mildly built but I do plan on doing some circuit racing and adding a turbo or a supercharger eventually. So what would be the best trans for what I may be using, standard would be preferable. Thanks in advance!

You don't have many options in a 60* v6.
maybe see if the g-force guys can help you?

Run what you got till it breaks, but be saving for a WCT5 while you enjoy it now. No use in changing it now, it is working.

speedways motors 60* to 90* trans adapter and put a t56 in it with a 4:11 or 4:56 rear gear

Re: best trans for me v6?
im not running one it was a planned upgrade for my car , i just never got to it and have to many projects right now.
i think it will work great specially in a road / circut race useage , u will need 4:10 or 4:56 rear gears to take advantage of the dbl over drive though
both 5th and 6th gears are overdrive gears
as far as the swap it should be the same as a t56 swap into a v8 thirdgen except u will be using an adapter plate

Re: best trans for me v6?
Awesome ill really look into that. I really wanted to swap one in but the appeal went away when I realized it wouldn't fit. Hey I know it's a bit off topic but I saw in a another post project that you have a n7 blower or something with intake you offered to seek to another member of our board. Still got it?

Re: best trans for me v6?
I have a T56 in my car with a 3.5L V6. It's not a terribly difficult swap. You do need at least a 4.1x rear gear though. Otherwise with a 6800 rpm redline you will be able to hit 60MPH in 1st gear...

The thread with the most information is here:
Adapting-T-56-to-60*V6
There are a few different ways of accomplishing it but it IS more difficult than on a V8. Since you are looking to do it with a RWD block you don't need to worry about trimming the bellhousing for a starter, and you should already have the correct flywheel needed for using an LT1 T56.

Re: best trans for me v6?
u would have to have the holes welded up and redrilled
comparing the 4-71 to the fageol or m90 is like a drag race between a stock honda civic , and a dodge viper
lol its a big boy blower , it wont fit under the hood

Re: best trans for me v6?
it needs welding and final machine work , i drilled and tapped the mounting studs into the plate and when i did they have a twist to it so the blower doesnt sit parallell to the crank , so it tries to throw the belt off.

Re: best trans for me v6?
That's fine that it doesn't fit under the hood I need to cut it and have a blower scoop for it, you don't have an intake or pulleys to match it by any chance? I could possibly get all that fixed. How much would it cost if I ask you to fix it for a square bore carb like the Holley?
i have pulleys for 10% under drive 1-1 drive 5 and 10% over drive , also have a 4bbl top on the blower , i do not have a scoop for it
the problem is i cant fix it i dont have a milling machine to precisley locat the stud mounting holes, chances are if i welde dup the old ones and drilled them by hand again they might be off
i got the blower cheap , but the drive snout , pulleys and carb top did cost a good bit so id have to total it all up to see what id need out of it to atleats break even
