Re: 3.1L Turbo Build
what exactly is pushing you towards wanting to turbo the V6?
Re: 3.1L Turbo Build
having done this, I would advise to steer clear of it. There are so many other better options if you’re after speed. However if you’re really wanting to do it then be ready to do quite a bit of fabrication and hours upon hours of reading. Being that our cars are getting older, the added power/heat/sophistication starts breaking things and you’ll be throwing little parts at it left and right. This was my experience anyway. I was wrenching on it so much I ended up getting frustrated and parked it. It still starts up and runs and drives but does weird things from time to time.

Re: 3.1L Turbo Build
As far as the engine goes, look into tuning. I use moates stuff. Possibly a cam swap. Exhaust. Good tires. These would be good places to start.
if handling is your thing, subframe connectors are a must. Box in your lower control arms or buy fancy ones. New/better shocks and springs.
I don’t want to tell you not to turbo your v6 but I do want to warn you that it is a lot of work. Far more than swapping a v8 in. If you’re down with that then grab your welder and start fabbing up your exhaust because that would be your first step. This is best done with everything in the car so you don’t run into clearance issues. And keep in mind that wherever you mount your turbo you still have to leave room for the air filter and the charge pipe to the intercooler as well as the down pipe from your turbos hot side. There should be plenty of pictures in this thread and others to get you started.
