3.1 v6 Charcoal Canister Howling /

My problem was that after a while driving the fuel pump would start to howl and eventually stall. Lots of pressure in the tank when removing gas cap as well..so i looked into it and i could hear the fuel bubbling by the charcoal canister.. what i did was remove the litle valve before the canister and it was full of gasoline.. what i did was hook up the line directly to the purge valve....drove for a while like that and everything was good. when i remove the gas cap there is a tiny bit of pressure. so i thought i solved the problem..... then the howling came back... usually when the howling would start i would remove gas cap and lots of pressure would escape.. but this time just a small amount, what i would call normal... so i kept driving it with the wicked howl, stalled maybe twice. to restart i would crank for like four seconds and then start with the loud howling..i kept driving it that way and after a while the howling stopped... so this leads me to believe that its the actual purge valve not opening up as often or gets stuck or something? anybody solve tis problem?? Also what if i completely bypass the canister and hook up the fuel line dirctly to the throttle body? will this eliminate the problem?

Fuel pump replaced? Sounds like to me that back at the tank the return and vent lines are reversed. That is, the vent line from the canister is connected to the return line at the tank, and the return line from the engine is connected to the vent line at the tank.
