So i took a closer look and turns out i was missing my fuel tank heatshield. So i took a trip to a kinda far pick a part jy were they always have good cars coming in and not many people. My car barely made it stalling here and there on the 40 min drive.. anyways... I found a completely stock 91 amaro rs 3.1. all it was missing was the injectors and fuel rail but everything else was intact... so i took the stock fuel tank heatshield which was in perfect condition.. picked it up for 9 bucks... i also took a look under the hood and i noticed the map sensor was hooked up on another port of the intake. So i had MY map sensor hooked up wrong next to the brake booster. I also had the wrong vaccum hose..... i was using a regular vaccum hose .. i took the stock skinny plastic hose that goes from the map to intake... so i picked up the heatshield and a few stock vacum hoses i needed and all the charcoal canister lines and valve for only 9 bucks .... so i got home .. car drove crappy along the way.... got home opened gas cap and it was full of pressure.. stupid problem. So for the next hour i was fixing all the vaccum hoses under the hood getting them right.. i installed the fuel tank heatshield...... so now everything under the hood is back to its original state.... took it for a drive......CAR DRIVES FLAWLESS, IDLES REAL SMOOTH. i also had another problem were my idle would be really roughh.. NOT ANYMORE . PROBLEM SOLVED.. TO MAKE SURE I REALLY SOLVED THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEM I DROVE ALL AROUND doing 80-90 on the freeway from the valley to the beach ..CAR DIDNT GIVE ME ANY TROUBLE.. WHEN I COME TO A STOP NOW THE CAR IDLES CRAZY SMOOTH. NO MORE NOISES.and i was really gunning it .. lots of WOT...my mileage also went up and car runs a lot cooler..when i opened the gas cap after the hard driving very little pressure was realeased.... Problem Finally Solved. Just wanted to post for anyone out there dealing with the same bs problem.. any questions hmu. Im guessing it was mainly the missing heatshield causing the problem...
