Just got my motor out and found something a bit weird. What is this thing? It's on the passenger side bank right at the back of the block above the headers. It had some sort of electrical connection to it.
My guess is that it is the dash indicator sender for engine coolant. If it had a dark green wire going to it, my guess is even more so that it is for the dash indicator.
No its something else I think, I know cause I unhooked it on purpose.
it and the CCP valve are both run off the same part of the ECM that will not throw a code if they short out as they then fry that section of the ECM but it still kinda works.
Alright, we have it. As Gumby posted the picture in post #1 is the electric fan switch.
With the sender on the front of the cylinder head (last pic just above) is for the dash indicator light. I'd forgotten that the dash sender uses the slide on connector style.
Ok so the rear one is the fan switch, which I know works as the fan has come in and out, and the front is the sender for the dash light. Does this also send data to the gauge or is this another sensors job?
