Merry Xmas to ME! Yeah!
I'd say it's "good to be back" , but I'm back at work after a week off... (sigh)
I had a hell of a holiday... My girlfriend got me a C-clamp style valve spring compressor. Her father bought me a G-tech Pro. And...
...my girlfriend ALSO bought me 8 laps (20 miles) in a 600HP retired Winston Cup stock car!! I'll actually be driving the thing on my own!! I take a 3 hour course, and then hit the track with two other cars (one lead car for the instructor, and one other car for another "student"). Talk about unexpected!
Funny thing is, I had brought it up with my friends a few days before Christmas, and she told me "I don't want you ever doing that; it's way too dangerous"- the little sneak!
What I like too is that I get a certificate of achievement when I'm done; that'll look hot in the garage! I've got to figure out a nice warm day when I want to do this...
To keep this technical; anyone use the G-tech to measure G-force? Looks like I could really use this thing to tune my suspension up.. just wondering if anyone's used it for this?

Dude, how come all my G/F got me was a shirt, and a nice Calender...lol (University together means no money so I can understand not getting 8 laps from her...)
Way to Go TomP, so whats your 1/4 mile using the G-tech Pro?

I got a buffer for Christmas, and some wax, and various car cleaning stuff. i will have to say the favorite thing I got was this rainX anti-fog stuff for the inside of the windshield. I NEVER USE MY DEFROSTER now.

Heh, I haven't actually taken the Gtech out of it's box yet. The thing is small as hell! It's about 1/3 the size of a pack of cigarettes. I don't think I want to measure HP, my 226,000 mile 2.8 will probably show up as 100 HP...
That's why I'm more interested in the G-force aspect of the unit for now. I'm even thinking of ditching my rear P275/60r15 tires for P255/60's, to get the car lower, so it could corner a little better. Now that I don't street race anymore, the most fun I have is on a twisty road.

Tom,if they allow you to have a camera in the car you will have to share it with use. That sounds like it would be cool as hell. But I'm going to go with wayne on this one.I'd like to go thru the 1/4 doing 300mph@4.99 sec myself.Talk about the g-forces
If your other half got you all this for Christmas.....can I borrow her just until next Christmas and my B-day are over with?

That Rain-X stuff.... what kinda difference did you notice? Do you think that will work for the hatch, because that thing is IMPOSSIBLE to see out if the mornings create fog.

I'll definately have pictures taken; I wonder if they have one of those fender cams on the car! I'd imagine they would; hell, that's an extra $50 that could be made in the souveneir shop! "Watch yourself race! 20 minute VHS only $49.99!"
And nope; sorry, she's mine!
