I really have no idea about how fast the early 3.4L fourth gens are. They weigh more but I dunno... With the mods I have do you think I could beat one? I have never had the guts to pull up to one and actually RACE him. Scared of getting my *** beat I guess although this guy I know has a 94 3.4L automatic and I was following him and he hit it and I almost ran up his *** (maybe he let off the gas? I cant hear **** over my flowmaster) Oh and how much hp and torque would I get from porting and polishing my heads and new valve springs and roller rockers? I am HOPING for 200.

I;m thinking my car has right at 170 hp since I am dead even with a 305 TBI 5 speed with an aftermarket muffler and otherwise totally stock. Neither of us could pull on each other, so I;m guessing thats right where my car is, I was hoping for 180-185 after I polished the heads, but if you had the heads done professionally and used a bigger cam, with the custom chip you might hit 200 hp.

i read in a camaro performance book that 3.4's ran the 1/4 in 16.7...............so if it true, Monkie, that your car ran a 17.1, forget about it

My 92 Firebird with a Hypertech Thermo Chip, 160 degree stat, jet pulleys, MSD 6A ignition, Dynomax exhaust, Home made K&N cold air kicked this kids white 4th gen camaro's *** by atleast 5+ car lenghts. I dont know if it was an automatic or stick all I know is it had those funny looking hubcaps!! I can't wait to get my messed up crane cam fixed, my new headers(just bought), new throttle body/ ported manifold from 60degreev6.com(only $225 for the throttle body and $350 for the machining) and my 3.42's installed when I get her out of storage in May. I'm thinking I'll probably take out 3.8 forth gens no prob. It's all rock n' roll to me friends, by the way if Vince Neil comes to your town to rock go see him its better than seeing him with motley crue. Peace.

I don't know Bon Jovi. My friend's bone stock 3.8 (I watched this) ran a 15.2 (Automatic). I'm talking paper filter still bone stock. My other friend's 3.8 5 speed's runnin 14.0's but I'm sure he has something done to it.

I sure hope I could beat a 3.8. Maybe if they are unmodified. Most people up here dont know how to drive a stick and if they do they have a V8. I guess I'll have to make a journey down to the drag strip after I get the work done in the summer. Teal RS, I saw Motley and Mega at the maximum rock concert too. It was cool, but Vince sole is so much better this was the forth time I saw him. He has more fun solo, he's pounding beer on stage it's a classic "Shout at the Devil" show. I saw Dokken with Cinderella 2 years back too it rocked. Rock on KIDS!!! One other thing I was looking at this Nitrous Express kit for V6's it comes with 35, 50 or 75 adjustable shots. It sounds really nice, I emailed them to get a price quote.

I think it really has to do with drivers skill. My friend has a 94 3.4 5 speed and at the track here in tucson he ran like mid to high 18's and I beat him by 1 car and a 1/2. You can do it, just maybe you would have problems with modded ones.

I totaly agree that a lot has to do with the driver. Dont be afraid to race wat you think may be a better car. Put your foot down and take it off be confident. point seconds faster than your car isnt much go for it.
