Camaro 2.8 Specific Fuel Injectors?

Hey guys, I'm looking at buying re-manufactured fuel injectors for my 2.8 Sport Coupe, the 3.1's I've been running are starting to short at idle, esp. in morning or after long trips (with a voltage drop too! ) anyhow, I've heard about Fiero injectors being different than the ones that came in our 2.8 cars, and sellers are listing the same 2.8 injectors as compatible with Fieros, Camaros, Firebirds and even Cadillac Cimarrons equipped with the 2.8L 173Cu. In. V6 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated engine. Is this right or do I need to be more careful in selecting injectors? I'm sure either way my fuel economy could use the help

Thanks in advance guys!!

Re: Camaro 2.8 Specific Fuel Injectors?

So across the 2.8 the 3.1 and the Fiero 2.8 the injectors are all 15 pounds? I thought the fbody 2.8 was 13 and the Fiero and 3.1 were 15? I have stock 1991 3.1 injectors in my car now and get the occasional running rich code. Just been a confusing subject for me haha

Reversing the equation for the BPC value, in the AZTY BCC the 3.1l injector flow is 16.5 #/hr. AZTY is the latest release for the '90 - '92 MPFI f-body's.

We have been recommending the 15's for the 2.8/3.1
They actually flow a little higher than 15 so they are fine for that application.

Re: Camaro 2.8 Specific Fuel Injectors?

Would these injectors work? They are similar to Bosch III. But they dont mention flow rate. Currently on a budget build. If it wasnt for my budgeting, I would definelty go for SB injectors. I have an 1989 V6 Firebird. 2.8l.

I haven’t had good luck with the Bosch knock off injectors even with offset data.
Who knows they might work in a pinch.

Re: Camaro 2.8 Specific Fuel Injectors?

I just installed a set of 0280155703 injectors in my 3.1 after getting a bad set of factory ones from a supposed rebuilder out of Cali. (I know better but I didn't check with Southbay as I did this before even going on TGO)
They are rated at 16lbs/hr so they are slightly bigger but so far are working good. These were originally used in Dodge 2.0/2.4 engines
Should also mention I did look at some factory Denso ones that are rated at 15lbs PN# YL8E-C2B but would require a EV6 to EV1 adapter for an additional $10

Re: Camaro 2.8 Specific Fuel Injectors?

I decided to try the Denso injectors using the adapters just to see how they compared

and these things work great! left the tune stock with these injectors. The previous bosch injectors were running just a tad rich but nothing I would complain about. these show a noticed improvement over those though. just another option to the old injectors
