“Tuning”

hey guys I got the 2.8 automatic and I have a cold air and headers on it. I was just wondering what you’d recommend as far as “tuning” or pushing as much power as possible out of it without heavy part replacement. I wanna cam it just cause but that’s not for a bit so just curious! Thanks so much!

Re: “Tuning”

1227302 ecm ?
You need to datalog to determine the state of the tune. You can upgrade the uv erasable prom to a flash based prom with moates.net g2. You should learn to adjust the maf tables yourself and buy a moates burn2. If your not wanting to go that route contact tbi chips. He deals with the old 2732 proms. You stil Need to provide a datalog.
or better yet do the 302-730 ecm upgrade

Re: “Tuning”

I'm tuned with Megasquirt II. I'm too dumb to do it myself so I had a reputable shop do it for me, and even they had a hard time with it. Megasquirt sent them 2 boxes that didn't work properly for my car. Plus my car had wiring issues (which is why I wanted to swap to megasquirt to start with). All in all, parts and labor it cost me about 1800. Part of that was dyno time and setting the car up for boost.

Re: “Tuning”

Do as tuned says.
My opinion? Ditch the 302. Its a waste of time. Honestly a waste of life. If you want to stay maf go 165, if map go with a 730. There is a program here floating around to do a 165 map, but I have yet to test it. I was going to do that with my other car but that fell through. 7730 is the way to go I feel. The car is SO much better.
