Help me out fella's, I know yaw are better than me at this

I got a 89' Camaro, brand new paint job, bright red, IROC hood with the loovers and all, lil ol turbo exhast, it's not to Vroom Vroomey since my cars a V-6, I love the car, it's beautiful. Just it's a little slow, and getting beat by a dang mustang every now and then just hurts. I'm 16 and just got a job at Food Lion "paper or plastic?" What can I do for cheap to my V-6 2.8 to make her just that much quicker? Appriciate it.

Well, start with the basics and do a tune up of the motor and put some K & N air filters on the car.

Remove spare tire, Jack etc.
Get ride of useless stuff in your car, if you have a socket set
or something, that all saves weight, and its free.
TB Bypass found here here https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...ntbypass.shtml

Free is done, Lets move on to the most important, take $200
and do a complete Tune up. Found https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ghlight=Tuneup
This gives you all your stock HP back to start with, as well as
Better Fuel economy, more snap taking off etc.

Now that is done, build a ram air.
Or get a dual snorkel air cleaner off of an older camaro 86 and
older I believe and put in two K&N's.
Then do some other mods, like upgrade exhaust, to better flowing
Flowmaster seems to be popular here (ask some else about this)
I am not to fermilar with this topic.
Shift kit if auto.
Chip.

Then you can move on to the oily guts of your engine.
You can get 1.6 roller rockers, or you can install a cam
with 1.52:1 roller rockers. That should add some more power.
Mind you this is a little more indepth, and if you don't install
it yourself its going to cost you.

Do the major tuneup first! (Thanks for digging that up for me, Joe!)

You don't need a new hood; most of our ram-air's don't use a new hood. The thirdgen.org tech article is probably your best bet.

the ram air will let more colder air into the engine. u should see a little performance boost at "highway speeds," 45-50mph+. intake and exhause are 2 places u should start if ur goin to be modding ur engine. the ram air covers the intake.
