Be gentle KED85, he might be under the influence of SMIBs.

like KED typed, search, look at camaro_hunter_d & his system.

It was the "******-rig" that IS offensive.
I used to live in Maryland and things like that made me eventually decide to leave.
I know many more Maryland folks that express themselves better.

I DO like the way you express yourself.
That IS an offensive term, unkind to many.
Just Aim Higher, that's all.

But, the many answers you seek are in the search of past threads.
You'll find your answers there. With photos, too.
All low budget tips.

PS I responded for the many that would be offended by your choice of an offensive slang term.

I'm curious what is a SMIB?

The 3.1L has that ugly coffee can of an air box. So the first thing you want to do is scrap it. Go to a scrap yard and look for the dual snorkle intake. cut the bottom of the boxes off. You will need to find a fill the gap ware the MAF sensor was. The dual snorkle intake cost me $10 at the scrap yard and then I needed to buy the K&N air filters that fit them. The K&N's were about $28 a pop you will need 2. I felt a major diference over the 1 inch pipe that feeds the coffee can.

BTW I am also curious as to what a SMIB is?????

If you cant figure out how to make your own intake then I would stay FAR FAR FAR away from a turbo! Not many ways to "******-rig" a turbo setup.

I know this might be a little late and off the subject, but what is up with "******-rig". You didn't mean for that to be offensive? Are you just that narrow minded or just stupid. Personally I'm not black, but it's *** holes like you that make this world have so many problems. Next time I'm sure you could use a different term.

Actually there are MANY ways to do it, but the motor becomes molton metal in the process.... Maybe thats what we should let him do?.

And I have/had the coffe can set up and I scaped the can and used the top to act as a "puesdo" free air top. I had a K&N installed and that alone helped. Of course the first thing I did when I got the car was take off that rediculous 1/2 inch inlet horn that's rivited on.

So.....you have a car that doesn't run but yet you are trying to figure out a way to make a intake. I think you might have missed a few steps on the way...

just unscrew the temp sensor from the air filter housing can, and throw out the botom half, and let the k&n sit on the black platform with the top piece of the can holding it down..., MAKE SHURE TO FILL ANY HOLED IN THE BOTOM B4 U SCREW THE FILTER DOWN.

i am horrible at explaining things so if i lost you, just go to my website(in my sig)
follow link to Picture page and then scroll down for the pics

and you can see how i did it...

if i punch the throttle u can hear allot of turbulance by the air can,
so a dual snorkel is something i am personaly on the lookout for so i can hook up a better cold air and low restriction airbox.... + it had an easier way to hook up ram air...

ps i since resanded and repainted that air can top shiny black... the rust was horrible... luckaly there was Zero rust inside the can...
