i want my car LOUD
i tried to take off my y-pipe, but that ****s rusted, and i tried to take off my exhaust, but that **** rusted too....i want to make my car loud *** a bitch, i took out my water shields, and that helped, anyone else got some tips and tricks? any advice would be nice
Yea dont do it, I did and it is loud but sounds like crap just get some headers and a flowmaster, also its so loud a cop will hear you a mile away (happend to me) and you cant even hear yourself think.
take your cat off and have a 3" dual exhaust put on with hooker aerochambers or 1 chamber flow masters or even cherry bombs have the exhaust run straight back and dumped by the rear end.

No need to buy Q-tips anymore , just crank it up and let your exhaust blow the wax out !

Yeah, you don't want to cut the exhaust off. The sound will come from the front of the car, so anyone will know that you cut the exhaust off to make it loud. Plus, when I ran mine with no Y-pipe (I was replacing my original "crushed by previous owner pipe" and had to do it!), it was an odd sound- it was loud and hollow, not loud and deep.
Go to http://www.summitracing.com (or preferably, call them at 800-230-3030, and tell them you want the Dynomax Super Turbo Catback. Here's your part #: WLK-17493 (you can look it up on the website). It replaces all the pipes after the catlytic convertor with new, larger 2.5" ones.
You unbolt your old intermediate pipe from the back of the catalytic convertor (use lots of Liquid Wrench penetrant), and cut your old i-pipe in half to get it out. Throw the old system in the backyard of someone that's pissed you off recently; they'll love it! Then you put the new system in as follows:
Raise the back of the car
Unbolt the lower shock bolts
Unbolt the driver's side track-bar-to-axle bolt
Lower the axle
Remove all the heat shields over the muffler & "missing" i-pipe
Slide the new I-pipe under the car (it's got a hook that needs to clear the axle)
Bolt everything back together
[edit] Oh, and you can always wimp out and pay someone $100 to install it for you.

Well I had a side pipe rust off mine lask week and it is loud. Alot meaner sounding. Inside noise isWAY TOO MUCH now. I haft to have my sterio cranked just to hear IT over the EXHAUST. I am planning on after a few of thses headers get made to buy that Dynomax, high flow cat and slap a set of the headers on with a custom Y pipe. That should be a little louder over stock, and it will sound crisper.
