Dynomax Cat

Does anybody run a dynomax highflow cat. I found one in jegs with the part #289-15735. It says that it is for a 5.0 ( engine codes H and G). I thought that those engines ran the same cat and exhaust as the v6's. Am I right?

Actually, if you are going with JEGS I believe the part number is 289-17493. I am running it but I got mine through Summit. Hope you enjoy it, I sure do.

i ment a dynomax high flow catalytic converter. I was already planning on getting a cat-back exhaust. Does anybody have a dynomax high flow catalytic converter.

Search for my old post mentioning the Catco convertor part number. (Click on "search" on the upper right of this screen, type something in to search for, type TomP as the author, and choose the V6 forum). Then use that # at SummitRacing.com to look up the CatCo, and see if it's also spec'd for engine codes H & G.

i am pretty sure the exhaust setup on the 8 is exactly the same as the six. the only reason why it is probably spec'ed for the 8's is cause of tube diameter. stock the 6's came with 2.25 and the 8's came with 2.5". so technically if you were going to put it onto a stock exhaust on a six it wouldn't fit.

my hooker muffler i bought is actually spec'ed by hooker for a 4th gen but had the same dimensions as the 3rd gen muffler. the difference = the 4th gen had a 2.5" i-pipe input while the 3rd gen had 2.25".....so i bought the 4th gen and sounds and runs like a charm. i am yet to do my cat.

he's not talking about a catback....he is talking about the CAT itself. and was wondering if anyone has it already....

as long as the diameter on the cat matches the diameter of you exhaust you will be ok. the cats should be exactly the same on the 6 and 8 cars.
