Ok, i am thinking about putting a 3.4L in my car because my engine is spent, my question is, will i see an increase in power? There is not that much difference between the two size wise but they are both 6's but i sotn know, and also, can i use most of my origional parts liek wireing harness or will the swap be a complicated as a 350 swap?thanks

No, its a drop in engine. Read Ked85's article here. It is excellent read it once everyday for 2 weeks. Then you will know what you mean. It is much easier than installing a 350TPI.
The gains are 25hp over the 2.8 and 40ft/lb

For pics of a melted-2.8-to-running-2.8 swap, check out my page at http://www.geocities.com/tomp_3rdgen - your swap will look the same, except you'll have a 3.4 block.
ok, i have read his tech artical and i have 1 question, do i have to use the 3.1 oil pan or can i use the 3.4 that comes with it, o, and i am getting a HT 3.4 GM replacement engine from Jim Pace for 1779.95, it says that it is the perfect upgrade for a tired 2.8 V6 so i figure that it will work just as good in a 3.1 engine.O, and it is a crate engine so will i still have to do things like oil pan and other things? thanks
Are you crazy?
GO TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER AND BARGIN FOR THE ENGINE.
Go get a running long block from a wrecking yard.
Search.
G0d I know of tons of wrecking yrads out there.
I know of one is Sellersville. He rememebred me from the 70's too!
And in Levittown, I can rattle off a few on I think Rt 413.
Anything you have on your old engine, put on the 3.4.
It's guaranteed to fit.

KED85 Where did you pull that thread up from?
But it is an awsome thread. Like I said read it 10 times, and you will be able to tackle most anything you come against. Its one of the most informative threads onthe V-6 board. Althought the tune-up is along the same lines.
