Yet another mileage survey....

I like doing these, and they always seem to get a lot of responses, so here goes...how many miles on your car???

My RS was sold on Saturday, and delivered yesterday ....96,719 on the clock. Sniff sniff...

For my other cars (like anyone cares), I have 117k on my '95 3100 V6 Grand Am (bought with 109k), and it runs like brand new!! As for the Z, what can I say...absolutely flawless with 46k...

So lets see some posts!! And has anyone seen or owned an F body with the mileage I've seen (whether it is their's or not)??? How about 287k from an '87 2.8/5 speed Firebird?!?!? It came in for a sticker a few weeks back...3 owners, still has the original engine and tranny! And it still passes the dyno smog test!

Mine just rolled over to 180,000 even. I'm not exactly what they call an easy driver. Floor it quite a bit, and street race regularly.

My RS

My RS just rolled over to 100,000....100,168 in fact. It was kinda neat actually, cuz I came home from a party and parked in front of the house and my odometer said 999999, the next morning, I drove 1/10 of a mile and hit a stop sign, and it turned to 000000, kinda neat to watch, yet sad.

my 92 112K My 91 117K. Though I did have a 2nd gen 76 cam roll over 270K and still ran strong... sold it, never saw it again. Well on the road at least. The fu(king kid wrapped it around a tree!... MINT Z... I was PISSED. I spent too much time and effort rebuilding that car to have that snot nosed ***** to that to it. I shoulda known that a mid 40's guy would not want it for himself... This car was never driven a lot. The farthest south it's gone from here is San Diego and farthest north is Lancaster/Palmdale. Once I get my insurance, (passed license test w/ 10 errors, 15 allowed), it'll be used a lot more. And hopefully, next year, I'll be able to do what FAST RS did, but w/ cheerleaders. (see sig)

My Red 85 -- 140K miles and Chugging along (going to the shop to get that rough idle, lack of power diagnosed)
My Black 83 -- 154K Miles. Just finished the three year project of putting a rebuilt motor in it so after a MD Inspection it should be on the road.
My multi colored 86 -- ????? Miles. Not sure how many miles are on this one. Has had almost every removable body panel replaced. A new motor will be going in within a month then an inspection and a major paint job.
My 70 GTO -- 85K miles. Not an accurate mileage as my Dad changed the rear gear from a 3.55 to a 3.08 during the "gas Crisis" of '73 . This one will be restored someday
My wife's 93 Geo Metro aka "Smokey" -- 128K miles. Just had the head rebuilt due to a broken exhaust valve. Now it seems the piston rings are blowing oil (hence the name Smokey)

lets see, the original 2.8L = 235,000 (catch up tom. ) but it died . no biggie the new 2.8(2.9)L = 15,000, the tranny went for about 240,000 and the new built tranny is holding up at 10,000 so i'm happy and new ....

Catch up? Hehe, I'm already ahead, it's still running! Hey how much stronger is the new motor than the old one? I have a feeling my low 1/4 times are due to the "age" of my motor... and I'm sure the camshaft lobes are worn down to ****.

hehe, nah tom, u still got 5k more to go . this new motor isn't quite as peppy as the old one was, or atleast i don't think it is, i couldn't break a high 17 when i went to the track, hadn't tracked the old motor. But, that ole' one probably would have lasted forever, the story was i dropped the car off at a friends, (didn't have tiem to do a tuneup) he's done a million of them, so i thought everything was ok, well. i come back to pick up the car later, started it, and the motor seems to be acting really funny, turned out that he put 2 of his 1979 Lincoln Cont. spark plugs into my 2.8L by accident, he had mixed up the batch, so the result was that the reach was to long and two of the cylinders whacked the plugs. definatly not a good end to a motor with no leaks, didn't burn oil, and was running stronger than ever. I so wantedto be the oen to make it to 300k. Eh, now i've got a new motor to try it on.

I got 181,920 on mine. She had 112,300 on her when I got the car in May of 1999. Tranny died the next summer at 124, 995. Seems like she's running on borrowed time so I'm trying to sell. I'll hate to see her go.

Bought mine at 140k last July, just rolled over 150k this morning and it's sitting in the driveway right now with 150,016. Pulls as well as it did off the assebly line (probably more power w/ mods) I only have a slight oil. Pretty good engine IMO.

Killed a Neon today, but it wasn't really a race... or maybe it was an auto LOL.

Not to be offensive but I beat a 99 Neon that was a 5 Speed with my 1990 Mercury Topaz which is stock, I blew his doors off. We were racing cuz it was my friend and we had scheduled it. And if u can't beat ANY Neon with your Camaro then it's a disgrace to Third Gen's

Sorry but thats TOTAL BS TURBO BOY!. I have driven a newer 99-00' neon and your Topaz? (WTF is up with that?) would not stand a chance stock. And better yet they make like NO PARTS for it anyway. a Neon has a 2.0 if I believe. And can move with a 5 speed. I know I have driven one. A Topaz? has nothing. Not a damn thing. I know cause a freind had one and hell I did not need to get through 2ND GEAR to dust him. I raced a Neon not to long ago and it was a good race. I won, not by much mind you, but I won non the less.

"And if u can't beat ANY Neon with your Camaro then it's a disgrace to Third Gen's"

Theres just SOOO many things I can say on this one.

Heres one.. How about if you come onto a site JUST FOR third gen camaros and try to tell people your car has all this Shiznit on it, but yet can't provide not even one pic to back it up. Don't go to the board. Hell even if the LIES WERE NOT SO BLANENT it might get looked over, but common?... Sorry but I have been the closest person on getting a turbo install. I am also the closest person that has gotten headers made. Actually I did make a set. And now I have to make another set for MY TURBO PROJECT that I WILL TAKE PICS OF and might even submit it for tech article.

Ok Now lets be nice.
Ive heard alot of BS stories too . But I usually try to be nice (unless someone gets under my skin) actually some of it is actually funny . I've got over 15 years of automotive tech so fortunately I can tell the difference . And so can many of us on this board.
This is a cool board when people arent flaming each other.:lala: :lala: :lala: :lala: :lala: :lala:

Man and your into incest.. What a winner we have here!

Theres only a 50-60 HP difference between the 2 cars. AND the NEON HAS IT. Not to mention it's lighter.

So if your tampax can smoke a neon it must be able to beat my 3.1, which in turn means you can beat a TBI V8 with mods(headers , cat back, K&N) done to it, as I can beat them with my car!.

Just do us all a favor and don't come back. I do not care for POSERS that FLAT OUT LIE.
