You'd be hard pressed to locate one.
GM stopped remaking them. BUT you CAN try, BUT I really doubt you'll succeed.
I tried once and was kinda laughed at, at the dealer parts counter.
Re: for my 1985 S-10 Blazer, Federal Version, trying to "pass" a Rooked Smog station test.
I hope that station got it just due!
Yes, my search was years ago, tho.

Your shop books do have all those answers, tho.
So do the smog stations.

All your gonna find on the lable is your timing spec, how to disconect the EST, and what type of cat you use. The fan belt routing is on a different sicker so you cool if you need to replace a belt. All though having that sticker missing is a sign that your car was in a front end accident. The shops that replaced the hood and other crap didn't out a new one on when they were finished.

But like Karl said you will be hard pressed to find one from a dealer. If a dealer can get one for you it will cost $5.00

There's only one way to go on the timing mark.
How many miles on your engine?

You need to replace your timing chain, my friend.
Ask us how.
It is so fun!
Ask us how to check for this thruth.
BUT return on performance is really worth the effort.
Better scoot
Better gas
Smoother running.
You win all around!

800-831-0884
Northern Auto Parts
Get Fel pro gaskets
Probably Speed Pro Chain
No-Name water pump
Delivered $50-ish.
Also get all the little things you said for the future.
Save the shipping costs & sales tax you don't pay!
You remove whole "nose" of engine and replace.
Test
17MM on crank socket, ratchet.
Pop off distributor cap, look how long crank moves until the rotor moves.
If crank movement is close to an inch (it will be) there's your problem.
Remove balancer, water pump, timing chain cover.
Pull off gears (flop chain first for fun! you're there!), align gears by block of wood, reverse procedure.
Oh so fun!
But, I've done it to my tired 2.8 & HELLO AGAIN!.
There is life after 100K. Very strong & subtle.
Compliment by distb rebuild, upgrade coil, wires. BOOM ZOOM! It'll perk you head up again.
Or really return your engine closer to original HP rating.

I already have an O2 sensor, thermostat, and PCV valve, just have to put them in. I get paid tommorow, so i am going to finish exhuast and do the timing chain and stuff.

Also is there a kit or something to rebuild my distributor, when I replaced my rtor/cap, I noticed that the upper portion that the rotor connects to is all rusted and the wires that coiled around the shaft are very brittle and falling apart. I need to get that fixed too.

If that's the case, you should rebuild the distributor. You can buy all of the part indviualy (SP?), but I'm not sure if you can buy them as a kit. mainly you want to replace the pickup coil (that's the brittle thing). You can get away with useing 200 or + grit sand paper to clean every thing else. All though you can buy a new stator pole pice there really is no need. Just clean it and realign the poles. To realing you want to get them as close as possible to the pickup / stator with out touching. When I did mine a few were accually hiting. While you are there and if you have the spare cash get the Holly ignigtion mod and replace the stock one. It cost the same as stock, $60 or so, but will help delivery full spark through the entire RPM range and give smother idle and throttle respones. Slap it all back together and reset timing.

If you are going to tackle the timing chain and distributor I sugest getting a hold of both the Chilton's and Haynes repair book for your car. They will give step by step instructions. Or get the shop manule. It's covers way more stuff, but cost about $70 Vs. the $15 - $20 for the Chilton's and Hanyes.
