Kevin89formula, Those look really nice. They remind me of a set of wheels from Billet Specialties. Please post some more pics when you get them on the car.

American Racing AR-23`s.
I like the corvette/newer style wheels every one seems to be using but other than the Weld Pro stars I could not find a wheel that fit “my”style/theme of car. Then I found these and I believe they fit me perfect.

It appears to be the Factory Z20 Spoiler they used in 1988... Kind of a limited production thing...

I was just going to say i only like the stock IROC rims but that pic is badass. sweet car! nice SS stripies.. Other than that, i havent seen many rims that beat stock IROC rims, and I really get dissappointed when people take the stock rims off and lose them or sell them and they end up on some g-ride cutlass! haha.

I too was dissapointed that I couldn't get BFG's on my stock 16's. I love my stock rims, But >NONE< of our stock rims have the Kick-A$$ All Chrome Shine appeal that a good set of Cragars have! My stock rims will be ready to be thrown on this fall(b4 winter), as my Bird is my daily driver. I'm glad you are willing to think outside the box... Get some kick-A$$ rims and post up! My Cragars where actually bought for my G-Ride if you notice in my album <<I borrowed them off my other pride and joy! I'm fortunate to have a great F-body and a great G-body > I love G.M. cars!
Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
it seems every on is runing 17 so may go that way will use zr1 type wheels but i will have to lower my tire wall ftom 50 to a 45 or 40 so i will be going from 245/50-16 to a 245/45-17 or 245/40-17

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
I ran BFG KDWs (245 50 16) on my GTA. Now, I see that tirerack.com doesnt show BFG making that size for the KDW line. However, there are two other BFG tires you can get in that size. Plus, you can get a better tire (michelin pilot sports) which will outperform, outlast and outride any BFG you can ever think of.
This is coming from someone who knows tires. PM if you want to know more or why.
Btw, totally disagree about stock IROC wheels....snore. There are way better looking rims out there. IMO

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
the michelin pilot sports I tied on a vett an my camaro the did not handel good in hard cornering like my nitto or my buddy bfg and the micheline look like snow tires I don't care about the wet i don't use it in rain or snow i want good dry traction

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
Look like snow tires? If you are looking for ultimate dry traction and take your car to the track where you could actually understand cornering feel then you would be running race compound tires. I guess your opinion is just as good as mine but go to tirerack.com or any other site where people who do take their cars to the track rate the performance of the Michelin tires vs anything else.
Spoiler: You'll see that most everyone brags about pilot sports esp. the N1 and N2 versions (not in 245 50 16 however). BFG, Yok, Falkin, Nitto etc are behind. Btw, Im not just being biased against BFG as Michelin and BFG are under the same company, Mast.

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
These are the camaro F1 rims. Zr1s are .5" wider. Still running 275s all around though
I think im gonna step up to 285s next time cause theres still clearance.
And eventually i will have mini tubs all around and run 11" zr1s on all four corners
... if only.
Check out the pics:

They were popular in the mid 90's half the people around here had those rims. I don't recall the name or type. I'm sure a wheel shop thats been around could tell you.

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
I want to think they are called Type 86? They were made by several companies, American Racing and Eagle Alloys are two that I can think of, there were definitely more... Yours look like the Eagle Alloy type of wheel that I have on my 1967 Riviera.
I know they are not American Racing.
I guess I should admit, I do not remember the name, I tried finding my receipt...
So I did not feel guilty about posting a picture without a 3rd Gen in it, you will find a 1987 Formula and a 1989 Formula 350 Convertible, along with a 1995 riviera, a 2000 Craftsman 18" Push mower and a 1978 Case 222 Garden Tractor...

WOW! This thread is 7 years old! But does anyone have pictures of c4 wheels and what spacers are required? I'd really like pictures of black c4 wheels, but any will be good.
