I dont exactly know what tires you are talking about but I would stay away from them probably. How cheap are they and how cheap do they "need" to be. Tires are one of the last places you want to skimp on a car because the insure safety and insure your tires hook up. You might as well be driving a Yugo if you put $40 tires on the thing but I have never personally used the tires so my opinion probably doesnt matter. I did a little search and the majority of people said if you want to spend under $200 on four tires these are one of you best options but have problems over 70 mph, some say durability (2 summers), and obviously they dont handle that well. If you really need a quick fix these are the way to go but personally I would go with some such as the Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals, I'm pretty sure thats what they were called. Tirerack has a good selection and I believe they had rebates on the Wide Oval which were highly recommended by the owner himself and told me they were some of the best tires for anywhere near that price range. Oh well in that case I wouldnt get them, their not near the quality you want probably. Its not hard to find tires for around $100 ea. I would stick with Goodyear, BfGoodrich, and other reputable companies though for that money.

Either way, no performance tire is going to last long. Soft sticky rubber = poor tread life. If you're willing to sarifice performance for longevity, look into an all season tire (if you can even find one in the size you're looking for) with a tread rating of around 400. it'll grip about as well as your mom's buick station wagon, but hey, at least it'll last for 50k miles.
I've got falken 451s on my Corvette and I absolutely love them!

Ya I have some BfGoodrich, cant remember what kind but for the price they hook up amazingly well especially for $125. I was saying that the quality would probably not be good because they most likely are rather using crappy materials and/or they havent been making tires for more then a few years. I would stick with a company that makes millions of tires a year and has a good reputation.

As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Buy an $80.00 tire, get an $80.00 tire! Simple. If your just looking for " a set of tires to get you around" they are probably ok. If your looking for performance you will surely be disappointed. Don't mean to be a J A but a 245/40/18 is a pretty decent sized tire. I wouldn't consider it tall and skinny. It will fit nicely on an 8-8.5 inch rim.

Khumo Ecsta Supra 712s. Theyre like $90 a pop from jegs and they hook up and handle great in wet or dry. I love em.
Hell if youre interested, ive got a set on my polished iroc rims that im getting rid of. 90% tread left, $475 gets all 4 wheels and tires.

I got 2 275/45/17's and 2 335/35/17's for a measly 220 bucks, SHIPPED.
i bet there is somone out there with tires laying around for a good price.
Heck I was origionally looking for the 275's for the front and 315's for the rear. I was about to buy the 2 275's and the guy just tossed the 335's in there from his "older Viper" hehe. Yeah he def wasn't looking to make much money off of the deal as it seemed like he really didn't need it.
Anyways, thats just my good luck story, hope the same happens to you....also keep checking ebay

Kuhmo's would be the way I would go for budget.
One thing you could do is watch a tire shop like Sears or something for clearance tires and get them when they are a deal. I bought a set of Pirelli's like this. Scored all 4 for under $100 brand new.

235/55 - 16. they are directional tread and V rated. It was at the right time because I needed tires. The Sears here has stuff all the time. Sometimes tires get lost back there and go clearance or something just gets discontinued
This is the same for the tool department. I worked for Sears for 5 years. Make friends with someone so they can tip you off to the cheap stuff. They also have friends and family sale 4 to 5 times a year. It isn't advertised but anyone can walk in the door. That's good for 10% off of anything, including tires.
