widest tires I can put on my rs's rims without problems
what is the widest tire that will fit correctily on my stock 16" rim and won't rub the body, cause problems. It has p245/60r15's on it now. you have to have the same front and rear widths on stock rims, like say i can run a wider tire on the backs can i keep the 245's on the front. what does each of the #'s mean? p245/60r15's first is diameter, second is width, third is rim size?

First is sidewall to sidewall width in millimeters. Second is aspect ratio for sidewall width to sidewall height in percentage. 60% of 245. Third is rim size in inchs.
RS rims are 15x7 right? Stick with 245. Thats probably too wide already.

Re: widest tires I can put on my rs's rims without problems
Most RS wheels are 16x8's, and came stock with 235/55/16's, IROC's came with 16x8's as well and have 245/50/16's stock and fit quite well. The only bigger tire made for 16" wheels is the 255/50/16 and will also fit fine front and rear. Some guys have reported getting a bit of rub when turning to full lock, also a lot of guys get the same rubbing with the stock 245's as well so it's not really something to worry about.
If you do indeed have a 15" wheel (came on base model's) then they most likely had 215/65/15's stock, and a 235/60/15 fits the stock 7" width wheel well. You can squeez a 245 on there but the sidewalls start to buldge a bit and handling will begin to suffer. There seems to be a craze of stuffing 275's on stock 7" width wheels on these boards lately, and it's gonna get some one killed when the tire peels off the rim.
