DUBs
DUBs
Here is a pic of my latest... 20x10 TSW thruxtons with 315/35zr20 Michilen tires. The wheels have a 5" lip on the rear and the fronts will have a 3" but they are still on back order. The car is not lowered yet but will be down about 2.5" from where it is now. I know it is a crappy pic, but you get the idea. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. They will actually be tucked a little.

Wow, not that bad actually. What's the offset front and rear?
You can get them in 18s too.

Re: DUBs
The fronts will be 20x8.5's with 255/35's on them both front and rear have +25 offset. There was some "massaging" of the inner wheel well. I will get better pics when the car is finished.

Once it's outside you'll notice how tall it'll be running that size tire, with that fender gap.
Wheel style looks pretty good.

Re: DUBs
That looks really good! I was scared to open this at first from the title, but I am glad I did! MORE PICS!!
Re: DUBs
Yeah the title was kind of a joke, better to under promise and over deliver right? The wheels are acutally a bmw X5 fitment. As most of you know BMW is 5x120 and gm is 5x120.65 so they actually bolt right on. The front & rear wheels were $316 ea retail and are actually pretty light. You can buy them cheaper through discount or someone like that, I bought them wholesale so I only paid about $225 ea. The rear tires is where it gets expensive, michelin are the only ones that make that size and after a ton of measuring I determined that it was all that would fit/or was available. They were $368 ea retail but buying wholesale I got them for about $275 ea. I am still shopping front tires but the 255/50zr20's I am looking at are about $100 ea my cost. The front offset may be a little much, but I haven't yet test fit them. I will post more pics when the car is moving under it's own power.

Re: DUBs
what did you have to do to get the wheels and tires to fit on the back , either they stick out more than most woud like or you needed a bfh or did some cutting or just got the perfect right on bs on your rims????

Re: DUBs
I still think they're too big, but I must say, 28" of tire versus stock 25.6" looks great. It actually fills the wheel well, rather than just get rid of the top fender gap from lowering. The big tire also makes these 20's forgivable, but I still wouldn't do it to my ride.
Re: DUBs
with factory being closer to 25.5-26.5 range your only 1 1/2" over so you'll need at least a pro kit or more to make your car look like it's riding at factory height and to really be lowered enough to make a 2" wheel look right you'll need a 2" drop or more which will only give you the look of a worn out suspension typically does on factory tires.
your tire choice was wrong in my opinion and your offset is a bit too far out for my likes but it's something you could cure. drop down to a 30 or 25 series profile and it will look 100% better.
just my opinion though... those are some heavy rims and a large tire, hope your pushing upwards of 400 rwhp if you want to keep up with todays cars on the road.

----------
have you seen that in person... a tire/rim combo like that makes a thirdgen look like it's ready for "muddin". which in the end defeats the purpose of 20's on a thirdgen doesn't it? a tire of that height and width is a very heavy thing to rotate. hope you have some good brakes and a strong rear end!

one good thing about your tire choice is your wheel protection from bending lips. to have the right look you have to have some really nicely paved roads in your town.

Re: DUBs
Eh, I liked the way it looks. Wouldn't do it. It'd be nice if our fenders fit our wheels/tires a little bit better though. There's a couple inches left, right, and up top of gap. Dropping the car only gets rid of the gap up top. I'll stick with stock size tires for now.
