That looks so nice. That pic makes the car look like a Hot Wheels.

No mini tub. No nothing not even fender roll. No rubbing at all. And its lowered on sportlines. With factory crap shocks it rubbed bad. Nothing at all now.

How does the 18"/17" bias effect handling and ride?

I have SFCs and a kink in my frame. My ride couldn't have gotten any worse, so I haven't felt a difference in ride.
Handling though, to me, turning feels a little bit more responsive on 285/35/18s going from a stock size tire on my old 16" formulas. It IS a little looser on the *** end with the 18s on mostly burnt off tires.

Other people's experiences will differ, most people's cars on here haven't been wrecked.

My car rides a little more firm - which I like, and handles WAY better - which I LOVE!!
I have Suspension Techniques springs and Monroe shocks/struts.
Huge improvement over stock.

You'll need a jack, lug nuts, and a device to secure the lug nuts!

Most guy's including me run 2 inch spacers. But I don't think your getting that 345 in there without heavy modification.

BTW, if your running a fourth gen rear like myself no spacers will be needed on the back.

I don't think you are getting that 345 in the stock wheel well. I barely squeezed a 295/35 in mi e. went back to a 275/35/18.

You will absolutely have to tub it if you want a 345 tire in the back. You may also have to shorten your rear end depending on backspacing of your wheel.
2" spacers on the front.
No idea on the back. You will have to measure that for yourself

there are definitely a lot of sweet cars being posted on this thread

I am trying to install my 2006 Corvette c6 wheels on to my 91 Camaro Convertible... the wheels are 18 by 8.5 and 19 by tens on the rear.. does anyone know the exact amount of spacer I need to fit them so they won't rub on the inner or outer wheel wells?

You need to figure how much back space is on your wheels. I went with a 2" spacer in the rear and a 2.25" in the front. Wheels are 17x11 with a 7.8" backspace and the fronts are 17x9.5 with a 7.1" backspace. The rear tires are 315/35R17 and the fronts are 275/40ZR17. The front rubs a little in the rear on a hard turn so if you go with a smaller front tire it should get by with no rubbing. So depending on the back space of the wheel subtract it from these two numbers that will give you the size of spacer needed. Totals needed: (BS - F) or (BS - R)
Front: 4.85" 7.1" BS - 4.85" = 2.25" Spacer
Rear: 5.8" 7.8" BS - 5.8" = 2" Spacer

So the total BS for the front should be 4.85"/with spacer and rear 5.8"/with spacer. Here is some pictures of mine...

I am currently running 17 by 9.50 with a 5.5 inch backspacing on all 4 wheels on my old Camaro and the outside edges of the tires rub the wheel wells.... I believe I could run 6.5 inch backspacing on the rear and not rub .but the front tires rub on the A-arm with 5.5 back spacing and the outside edge of the tire rubs on the fender when you hit bumps granted this car is very low

The most you can run is a 5.8" back space on your rear wheel otherwise you will be hitting into the inner wheelhouse...

There are plenty of cars with that setup. OE wheels just came out with 18" sets of the thin spokes and want to see of anyone's got them.

Re: Got Vette Wheels??...Post pics here...!

New to the board and just started on my recently acquired '89 RS... needs a lot of cosmetic exterior work, car was basically stored in a garage with 500 pounds of crap piled in, on, and around it, but I am committed to the cause. 1st mod is the C6 wheel conversion, picked up 4 CHROME ones today for $500 with brand new 245/40/18 & 285/35/19 Hankooks on them. Hoping to acquire some spacers tomorrow and get them installed this weekend - will post pics as soon as I get it done! Can't wait, and looking forward to sharing pics of the progress along the way. Best is, the car is for my daughter when she turns 16 next year - but she thinks it's just another one of my "projects"...

Picked up my 2.25" & 2" spacers this morning, about to head out and start on the day's "project"...should be a good time. I'll certainly post up when it's all completed.

Looking forward to finally digging into this project!!
