I see everyone is running 2-3 inch spacers, has anyone had any failures running this big of spacers? Where do I get these spacers?

I'm running hawks spacers and 2.5in ebay spacers. They both are holding up great. If you torque them down as specified you should have no problems. And this is my daily driver.

You mean 'ADAPTERS'.

Spacers are NOT bolted on and are generally no more then
0.5". Any more then that would not be safe.

Many people come to this thread for information so it is very
important they get the proper information.

Correct "adapters" everyone in this thread has been refering to spacers and I just followed along so there was no confusion. But when it comes to safety I should of been more specific.

Back in the day (late 80's-early 90's) VBP was about the only provider of a hub-centric bolt on adapter. They were pricey compared to whats out there now.

They used a shank-style lug like weld wheels with the large caved washer to hold the adapter to the axle, and had a race style long stud (high tensile strength)pressed through the adapter to retain the wheel to the adapter.

Most of the modern (ebay) versions are imported knock offs of this original style. They use acorn style lugs and cheap wheel studs that I have seen several fail. They come in both a hub-centric and a non-hub centric design.

I'll post up picturs of both styles later

My personal preference however is to use the hubcentric version

No matter your personal choice, they key to using any of them is to always assure the proper torque values for the stud diameter and thread pitch.

@HI85WH1
Excellent info

This should be stickied

Am using Skulte 2" adapters up front & 4th gen rear end out back.

2in spacers all around. The rear spacers will get removed when I get a chance to install my LS1 rear. (4th gen) I am running Sumitomo HTR III's 245/45/r17 on the front and 275/40/r18 on the back

It's a brilliant red from GM. I added some black and pearl in the paint to darken it up. It's a beautiful color. Prep'ing my rear bumper, hood and chin spoiler for repaint this week. Bumper didn't adhear correctly and the chin has some chips. The hood was damaged the other week in a shop who closed a tool under it...I was unhappy to say the least.

Re: Got Vette Wheels??...Post pics here...!

I use 2" on both front and back but mine are only 18". For the rear you will need to go with 2.5. Do you have a stock 3rd gen rear or 4th gen rear? If you have a 3rd gen then you will need spacers in the rear. If its a 4th gen then no spacers.

Re: Got Vette Wheels??...Post pics here...!

Yeah it's a stock third gen and I should use a 2 in the front and 2.5 in the rear? And would this be affected if I drop it on sportlines? Thanks again

Yes 2" infront and 2.5 rear then. And it might effect it if you do the sportlines if you go too low.

Best wheel thread ever. I've been drooling. I am definitely taking my C5 wheels off my 01 z and putting them on my Iroc once it's running.

2inch in the front 2 1/4 in the rear but i think 2.5 rears would be perfect because I had to do some slight massaging of the inner fender well with a hammer to make them clear

I have Z06 17x9.5 all around and they clear the coil over conversion by about 1/4". I would think there would be slightly more room with 18s. I'm using 2" spacers.

Well, apparently they do make them in deep dish. They aren't real deep, but they still look pretty cool. Here's a link: http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels_3/...els-Gunmetal_3

I'm going to go with one of these wheels on my car. 18x8.5 fronts & 18x10.5 rears. That way I can put the Corvette or CTS-V big brake kit on the front.

Man, all this talk about deep dish is making me hungry for pizza! As of right now I'm leaning towards the Z06 wheels, but the other two would be easier to clean. That's one of the reasons why the crosslace GTA wheels are going bye bye. They are such a pain in the **** to clean! Bigger brakes is the other reason of course. What do you guys think?

Here's a picture of my car with the GTA rims:

And here's a picture of a 4th gen that I found with the Z06 wheels on it:

I think the gunmetal centers will look good on my car. If not, I can always paint them silver.

ive always like the Z06's that was my original plan but then i found the regular C6's for about half the price so i went with those, either way the car will look badass

No I used 1.5" Front and 2.5" rear also lowered on drop zones.
18x8.5 +56mm offset & 19x10 +79 mm
