Re: Cheap 19in wheels
5.5" of back spacing means there is 5.5" from the inside lip of the wheel to the hub mounting surface.
offset is similar. The +/- is the distance from the center of the wheel that the mounting surface is. + is toward the outside of the wheel, - is the inside.
You will need spacers to get the outside of the wheel to be flush with the outside of the car.
The rear wheels you have listed will not fit the car without a mini-tub, unless they stick out from the side of the car over an inch.
Another important thing is the wheels width. A 18x9.5" wheels DOES NOT measure 9.5" wide, its more like 10.5". The nominal measurment is form the inside of the bead seats, not the actual outside of the rim.
So the 18x9.5 will be 10.5" wide +/- and the 19x12 will be 13" wide +/-

for the front, i would do 4.5" of backspacing with the 8" and 5.5 with the 9". That will place the wheels just a hair further out than stock, but keep them nicely tucked under the car.
for a 10" rear, 6.5" of back spacing, may need to do some hammering in the wheel well, maybe cut off the bumpstop bulge. If you take off a wheel and place a straight edge across the drum/rotor face, and measure back you will see what kind of space you have and where you will have to hammer/trim
with 3.75 backspacing, the wheels will stick way outside the wheel wells.
make sure you do all your research and measure a bunch of times before you drop that kind of money on wheels.

your backspacing is wrong, big time!!!

ok thanks i see what you mean il do the measuring... and i dont plan on getting these wheels til next summer at the earliest so i have plenty of time to research..... what i was thinking with 3.75 backspacing was that would have the biggest lip. and i want them to be flush with the body so if they stick out i can roll the fenders a lil and also il have negative camber when i lower it... how many inches would you guess those wheels would stick out with 3.75 backspacing?

The only other way to do it wold be to order an aftermarket rear in a shorter width, or have your axle shortened. But thats not cheap and a waste.

Re: Cheap 19in wheels
well, the first pic looks like totaly crap, but the 12's will stick out much further than that.
the last pic is sweet, and totally doable with the right wheel

Re: Cheap 19in wheels
Have you thought about rubbing in the front wheel wells with rims that stick out like that? I ran 15x8" Torq thrusts on mine for a little while with 3.75" backspacing. The rear was livable, they stuck out about 1/2" too far, but from most angles they looked alright, would have preferred them flush with the body though. The front, however, were a different story. With a 3.75" backspacing (-13mm offset for an 8" rim), the rubbed like crazy at anything past about 1/2 to 3/4 lock. And remember, that's with an 8 inch wide rim. Anything wider in that backspacing would only be much worse. It really got to be unbearable after a while, so I pulled them off and went with 18 inchers in the proper offset. Don't go cheap on the rims and get the wrong offset/backspacing, you'll regret it later.
And just my own personal opinion, anything that sticks out past the top of the fender looks way too red neck on our thirdgens. I've seen a few, very few cars that could pull it off, but most just looked cheap. Set it up right and you'll have something that looks absolutely awesome, drives great, and handles much better than factory. Don't forget, running a rim with significantly less backspacing to move it further out really plays heck with your suspension geometry, and can have a huge negative impact in handling and responsiveness.
Just my $.02, I've been around the block a time or two with these third gen wheel setups, and I'm telling you, do it right the first time or you'll be doing it again later.
