where to find 305/35/18's

so I'm starting to hit a little bit of an impasse. I'm looking for a good street performer tired for my 91 vert bird with 305/35/18 on 11" rims on the rear and 275/35/18 on 9.5" rims on the front, the back spacing is all taken care of, and the rims are purchased, now the problem is finding rubbers that are not drag radials and not 500$ per tire!!! any sugestions on where to get these tires that offer a nice little military discount? so far the best bang I've seen are the BFG KDW's on tire rack however the biggest I can get is a 295 rear tire, I'd like to get into the 300's especially since I have such a wide rim.

any input would be appreciated

Looked at Tirerack.com yet?

And if you are just spending Daddy's money, what does it matter?

Re: where to find 305/35/18's

yep and unfortunately tire rack does not have any 305's available and the 315's that they have are all drag radials at 400$/tire, way out of budget!

its an odd size, and they are going to be expensive regardless of where you go.

Check out the prices at onlinetires.com

Even WITH the shipping, the exact same tires (for my car) were significantly less than than Summit, Jegs, Tire Rack, Discount Tire, Tire Barn, etc.

Only issue is waiting for them to ship. They use Fed Express ground.

It also appears that they offer NO Road Hazard & NO warranty. A search for them returns no results on their site.

No thanks....I'll spend a little extra at Tirerack.com, with an established, recognized company, over the cheap priced company I've never heard of, nor "warranties" the tires they sell.

Re: where to find 305/35/18's

I suppose that may be why they're cheaper.

They cater to those who do not wish for those extra things.

I guess they cannot warranty something that they did not mount onto a rim. and therefore have no control over (which is a common practice for all tire companies).

I'll have to rely on the manufacturer's warranty.

Guess I'm going to have keep the HUNDREDS I saved and put it toward a future tow bill since these Nittos are known to be junk

Do other tire companies offer tires without road hazzard and without warranties for a hundreds less?

Probably Not!
They fill a niche in the market that caters to "poor" people like me, so I'm glad they're around.
I'll keep my money, thank you.

I'm not rich, by any means! You probably are "rich" compared to me. I just never spend my money unwisely or on frivolous things. Hell.....My 315s are Sumitomos! Only a $20 per tire savings for me. over Tirerack. The other brands of 315s were $200 + each so......

If Nittos are so bad (and yes, they are. i ran them ONCE) and you already know this...Why would you buy "junk" tires anyways? Spend a little more & spend it once.

Road Hazard & such are no "extra things". They are protection, like auto insurance. Probably (hopefully) never need it, but SURE IS NICE to have, when you do. Tirerack has shops everywhere that do the mount & balance for Tirerack. Contracted, if you will. My 315s were sent to a local shop, who called me & I went & had them put on.

Just my on the matter.

Re: where to find 305/35/18's

No worries there and for someone in my position a tire rack warranty is completely useless. I live n Canada, so warranty and road hazard from those retailers are void to start with. Righ off the bat I wold have to deal with the manufacter. So for myself there is a nice perk

Here is a place to get tires. Also you can go to Ricekiller.com register and ask about the NTB hook up.

Re: where to find 305/35/18's

your probably set on this size, but honestly i would go with a 295 before a 305, its a lot more common, and seems to be the largest size offered by most companies. There are a ton of tires to choose from in that size.
