How big of tires will fit my formula??
How big of tires will fit my formula??
Ive been wondering how big of tires can i fit on my car. I dont know cause i am buying new tires for my car (92 formula) this spring when it comes out of storage....anyways i want to know if i can put wider tires on it without having to mess with spacing, etc. cause i dont want to put skinnier tires on the rear end (breaks loose too easy as it is lol) maybe less wide in the front and wider in the back? it has p245 50zr16's all around on it right now..thank you

are you stock height? his car is slammed and the only problem is when he turns hard but hiss car has the springs cut and he has it slammed so decently lowered or stock height will be fine

Re: How big of tires will fit my formula??
I ran the BFG 295/50R16's on my lowered 92 with zero rubbing problems, years ago.
Sadly, this is the ONLY pic I have of it, that een remotely shows it.

As far as tire choices go, there are several stock 245s. Some 255s. The a jump up to the BFG 295, for street legal tires.

The 295's worked on ours as well but we had to pound on the inner fenderwells a bit.

Re: How big of tires will fit my formula??

Yes, I cut the stock springs. Use a thin, metal cutting wheel & don't overheat the spring, and it is perfectly safe.
I used a 5 gal bucket of water. Put the spring in it, with just enough sticking out to cut, yet no worries about the grinder getting in the water. The water dissipated what heat built up. Is that overkill(the water)? Probably. But doing it that way I KNEW the springs wouldn't get overheated & sag any.

A free one, called labor & a 3.5" grinder!
