Re: whats some good tires
Loong long ago (10+ years) I went overboard and spent $1400 on a set of Z-rated Pirelli for my original Z convertible. Feaking LOVED those tires! Wish I knew exactly what model they were - these things were like GLUE on the road! Cornering, braking - you name it! Well worth the $ but a little overkill for what she had under the hood...
I have heard that they have gone downhill recently - not that good of quality anymore... Too bad...

Re: whats some good tires
seems like guys with the high dollar 3rd gens
like the kumho ecstas
i am considering them for my Z28
she has BFGs g-force on her now
i looked around before for tires for my RS 15" rims
i hear the GY eagle F-1s dont last very long so i
chose the michelin hydroedge 90k mile warranty
two lines down the center and every other groove
directs the water out just like the vette tires
had them shipped from discounttiredirect.com
for free plus the rebate from michelin
the do run like they are on rails-sticky
yeah the pirellis are super high dollar
like double

Re: whats some good tires
i have BFG g-force sport tires on mine . they are ZR rated , and i really like them . they are resonable in price ( about $120 ea. ) , handle well , good tread pattern & look good . a very important thing to me is that they are made in the U.S.A. . good luck .

Re: whats some good tires
i've been looking at the Firestone Firehawks and the BFG G-force sports. I like that the BFGs are available in 245/50r16 and 255/50r16 and that they are made in the US.

the firehawks are a good tire.
i run kelly chargers lol. they were 100 bucks a pop when i bought them a couple years ago. wear a couple 32's off of them and they handle a lot better get rid of that soft loose feel. im gunna try riken rapters next. 80-90 bucks a pop and ive got a friend with them on a 94z and he love them and ive seen it hook pretty good at the track. (6speed car)
