Picked up some C6 rims for my camaro. Now I need tires?

I picked up some competition gray C6 rims last weekend for $200 bucks. 18's up front and 19x10's in back. I've searched and already determined I'm going with a 1.75" spacer in front and a 2.5" in back. Now I'm deciding on what size tires to run. I've been using the tire calculator that I have. And I see a few people here are running 295/30/19 in back. And a couple running 285/35/19 in back.
I'm definately buying my tires used (because I'm on a budget). I don't need a really wide tire at this time (my car is all stock). So I started shopping ebay and craigslist to find out what goes for a cheaper price. I came up with some good deals on 275/40/19's. But that tire measures out at 27.7"tall and 10.8"wide. Granted it's bigger than the stock sized 16's. But I'm not concerned about the speedo being off. My main concern is that the tire fits in the wheel well. I checked and a 285/35/19 measures at 26.9". My question is will a 27.7" tire fit? Will it look like a truck tire? I don't mind having to roll fender lips and cut out bumpstops. I literally just want some decent priced tires to drive on.

275/40/19 is too tall and will look goofy. you either want a 285-295/35/19 or 295/30/19 good like finding a good used set of tires even used there expensive. is your car dropped, if its stock height you might also consider some lowering springs

Keep searching craigslist and with luck, you might find something used. They will lost likely be mounted so then you'll have to pay dismounting.

It would be easier to buy used Sumis

Yea, I was concerned about it looking goofy. My car is stock height for the time being. I'm getting my garage built so I'm short on funds. But this winter the camaro going to get pulled apart. The only reason I was thinking of that size is (used) they costs about half the cost of (used) 285/35's. But I guess you got to pay to play.

you got a good deal for the rims ... i paid 1100 for rims and tires.. i used 2" in the front and 2.5 inch in the rear .. all fit well but under acceleration there was a tiny bit of rubing on the drivers rear .. theres a little rib that sticks out that needed some massaging ..all is fine now...i would posta pic but i dont know how..

Re: Picked up some C6 rims for my camaro. Now I need tires?

I paid 500 for my comp grey rims...200 is an absolute steal.

the 27.7 will fit with stock ride height but may look weird unless you match the front sidewalls to the rear.

I got the 295/30/19's and 255/40/18's and it looks weird from the side.

sidewall in rear is too short. A 285/35 would make it look better.

I'd go 285/35 and 255/40 or 245/40 up front if you can. It will better match the sidewalls and wont look goofy.

I know your on a budget but there are no budget 19 inch tires....

I was able to get my 295/30's for 275 a piece with only 10 miles on them, take offs from a porsche 911. They are a 330 dollar tire. With more miles you can find tires for cheaper. Vette take offs are popular in 285/35's

Re: Picked up some C6 rims for my camaro. Now I need tires?

I actually am finding some decent deals on 285/35's on EBAY. And they're 30-40%tread. And you ain't kidding on no budget tires for 19's! the cheapest I found I think were $178(but I'm not sure what size). I can buy 18" tires all day long for $90 (new).
"firbster" How well does the 2" spacer up front work for you? I've been searching and some say it's better to go with a 1.75" up front if you lower your car. I'm sitting in 4x4 mode right now. But I'll be either getting some weight jackers, or cutting the stock springs to hold me until winter.

I got the 1.7 spacer up front because when i put on the C5 brake kit, it will move it out .3" i've heard so it makes it 2". It fits fine with 1.7 spacers and will fit fine with 2" spacers

Re: Picked up some C6 rims for my camaro. Now I need tires?

I finally got my rear tires in and all of my spacers. I'm just waiting on my front tires to come in. I got another question for you guys with the c6's and the stock rear end... I Know I'm going to have to hammer alittle to get them to fit with a 2.5" spacer in the rear. But my rim is really close to my bump stop mount(I know some people cut it out) But I was wondering if I ran my stock rear shims behind the spacer. Do you think it would cause problems? (Firbster) I think you're the only one that still has the stock rear. Everyone else has swapped out for the newer rear end.
