i will take a pic in the am but when i wrecked my rear end my rim hit a curb and put i prety deep dent into the lip of it. Could someone good with metal fix it? or is it toast. Its hard to find a replacement all the ones ive found on ebay are rears and since the previous owner had the rears in front and fronts in rear i smashed a front rim. Is there actualy a difference between the front and rear rims on the gta rims? gold with chrome lip. If i was to get another rear rim would it work with a front on the other side?

 

Without seeing it, hard to say. Best thing to do IMO is to send the picture to someone that repairs rims and ask them. I've had some pretty bad dents fixed so its entirely possible.

 

i wouldnt call it just a dent looks kinda bad to me atleast its enough that the tire us pinched inward but the tire didnt go flat when it happened

 

real bummer cause i love the look of those rims on my gta. As for using a front and rear on the front of the car can it be done without problems?

 

The rears usually rub if you put them up front.
You'd be surprised what they can fix. Take a look at some wheel/rim repair websites, they usually have pictures up.

That is the shop I used to widen 2 of my 9" wide Snyper wheels into 11" wide wheels!

 

its a little more caved in than the third down on the right of the photo gallery to the site u just posted. The shop that replaced my rear end said its toast and good luck finding a replacement.

Shoot them a pic & ask. Both of mine were widened & powdercoated, in like 3 days!

 

well im trying to see what would be better money wise, if i can use a front and rear up front i can get a gold gta rim on ebay for 75 to 100 bucks. thats cheaper than it will cost to repair the rim.

 

Fronts fit the rear, but rears don't fit the front. The deeper bs causes the wheel to rub. Well.....If you use a spacer, they will fit & not rub.

 

thats how my mechanic said they were setup, i guess previous owner swapped them and put spacers for them to work. But if i use a front and a rear with a spacer will it throw off my handling? or will it bassicly be like it site right where a front would?

 

Are you saying a front on one side & a rear + spacer on the other side? Might have some alignment/pulling issues, since one wheel would be sitting further out on one side than the other.

Fronts on the back & rears on the front (with spacers) does look good. And rears can be picked up cheap all day.

 

yes that is what i am refering to. Because as u said i can pick up a rear cheap but when i do find fronts they want twice the price for them. If i could run a front and a rear with spacer up front i could solve the problem with less than 100 bucks if i need to get another front im looking at over 200 for one rim. Could a spacer be used on the front tire to get it to sit where the rear one would be from the spacer?

 

just found a local company that fixes rims for between 60 and 80 bucks fantastic

 

so the local shop said its to bad for them to fix withought it cracking. Its dented in and the lip curved inward into the tire. So the hunts for the cheapest solution is still on. I realy do not like driving this thing with a little doughnut on it.

 

Pretty much anything CAN be fixed, if you REALLY want it to be.

Talk to Wheels America. Yours sounds like less damage that the wheels in the I posted, that they have already fixed before.

Definitely worse than the first pic I posted, but look at the 2nd pic of the wheel they fixed. Have you asked Wheels America? Send them the pics & ask. Never know until you ask.

Well you can try contacting some other places, see if they'll touch it. The lip on mine was actually bent that bad, but the part closer to the spokes was not bent up like that. That may have been why they did not want to touch it but someone else may give it a go.

 

I have a set of front and rears sitting in my garage if you're interested.
