Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
Hey man what did you do to be able to put thos e rims on, for example, suspension, spacers and what size, did you use a different rear end and what type, cause I saw that ACE put a 4th gen rear end on his...did you do that as well....etc. If possible PM the Tech. Specs. on your car to me. I am in brasil right now and am planning my project and am building my ideas of the plans of others but in my style.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
if you dont have a 4th gen rear, 2in spacers in the back (and obviously the front) are required. you do have to get smaller tires than what stock 5th gen camaros have as well.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
I totally agree. After all this is a thread about 5th gen wheels and most of us here like the idea, so yeah.... And to all ya'll that have done this.... I mean thats just my , and I am really excited about getting my own set. I originally was going to get some camaro 20''s from SLP instead of original, but after seeing JERSYBOYY's car I am going to order some originals, but in black and see if I can get the lip polished. I am planning on painting my car black, and putting white heritage stripes on it. And actually I am living in Sao Paulo, Brasil for the time, working and my wife and I plan to move up to the U.S. again and then I will start the Project, and for those who are interested I am designing mine while I am waiting in 3d studio max to finalize the build before I start and waist a ton of Money, so for those interested here is the link to the thread of where I have pics... https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...s-chassis.html Enjoy guys.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
okay i may just be asking the same question over again....but what is the best tire size to run...i have a 4th gen rearend and im assuming ill need 2 inch spacers in the front of course...but what im curious about besides the tire size...is does anyone have issues of the wheels rubbing? either turning them in the front or...say if you have people in the backseat? i dont want to see tire scheds beat my quarters to death so anyone have good advice?

Better have SS/Ctsv brakes behind em. I think its too much rim too little tire.

I don't really like big wheels either. I would love it if they made these repro in 17-18" because I think the style fits the third gen. I really think these look good, I'm still hesitant on getting 20" wheels though.

Ace, where did you go my brother, did u part it or are you going to finish it. I 'm doing the same thing, but I bought a wrecked 2010 and going to swap as much as possible, but I always wanted to do the air ride, what is your opinion on that system, I assume its the Ride Tech kit? Does it ride like a caddy w/ that system and handle like a C6? lol... like they claim!!!

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
the suspension geometry on a 3rd gen just doesn't lend itself to large wheels... they're good looking wheels, but totally wrong for a 3rd gen. If they were available in 15-17" sizes I'd love a set (honestly, if someone still made good performance tires in 15's that's what I'd be running, there is _no_ reason to use bigger tires on a stockish suspension 3rd gen, you just add weight and harshness)

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
I believe that his statement is in regards to this statement:
As for the wheels, they look killer on the silver Camaro, especially when dropped. But I think that they don't look right if the car doesn't have the ground effects, like the Firebird that is missing the fender pieces.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
245/35/20 on front, 275/30/20 on rear with a 2" spaces all the way around. The fronts do slightly rub on the plastic wheel well material. Probably could use a thiner spacer on front to prevent that, but the rear's are perfect. My true opinion of this wheel is it is just too big looking for this car. An 18" would probably look better. However, the car probably would look badass with the 20's if lowered.

That does look really nice but I agree that a set of 18's or lowering would be better. I'd like to see it lowered on those 20's...

I just think they look too big- I have a set of 18 inch Irocs that came with my car that I want to get rid of THEY look too big. I am going to go with 17s I think- that seems to be the most these cars can take without looking like a Hot Wheels car. No offense...

Thumbs up Dude. Your lowering springs are perfect too. What spacer size did you use and how flush with the fenders are they? Pics would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hers a link of some of them. I put wheels on my buddie's 2010 camaro and he let me have this. They have this and also the black ones you see on the 2010 camaros.

I am sure you've seen them just didnt realize them since they look completely different with those huge tires to make up for the diameter.
