225/60/R16???

First off i want to introduce my self. I have always owned Stangs and 4th generation Trans Am but have always been wanting to get a 3rd Gen. bird!! Well im the New Owner of a 1988 GTA Notchback, and i love this site, alot of knowledgeable guys here. Now, for my question. The car needs tires and i know the stock tire size is 245/50/16 but i got 225/60/16 tires from my 2002 firebird and was wondering if they fit. Im planning on getting the 245/50 later but since i have this in the garage and they are new will they fit with no issues?
Thank you in advance!!!

they are about 1" taller than stock, should be fine on the rear, but will most likely rub a little on the front.

just be careful, if they rub on the front, you would damage the nose and door ground effects when you turn.
