Whats the biggest wheel spacer safe to use?
I have a custom Ford 9" setup in my 91 and I'm kickin myself for not making the axles longer to fit a wider assortment of rims. I need like 1" backspacing on my rims now. I was looking into wheel spacers and was wondering what is the biggest size I can use safely? Thanks

Ok cause I have 10" wide wheels with a 1" backspacing so in theroy I could get like 8" spacers and run the stock wheels (with like their no backspacing) and not have any issues? and the biggest spacer I could find was a little over an inch do you know of anyone that sells or makes bigger ones for a thirdgen? Thanks

what? that doesn't make sense. 1" of BS would bolt to he car fine, but would stick out of the wheel wells a ton.
if you need an 8" spacer, you need dfference wheels

Re: Whats the biggest wheel spacer safe to use?
no no no no. I had a Ford 9" out of a truck laying around so I shortened it and got axles for it to fit the 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern. But in the process I thought deep rims would look sick but now that I made the rear end short, the majority or wheels take like approx 3 to 5 inches backspacing. What I was sayin was if I found an 8" wheel spacer that I could run 17x8 wheels with like 7 inches backspacing. haha

never seen a wheel spacer larger than maybe 3-4 inches.

What width did you narrow it to? I'd just mod the inner fenders to fit a wheel instead of running spacers.

Oh no, I LOVE deep dish rims and pizza
but the majority or rims I was looking at would have to be custom made which is more money or they don't custom make em. After I finish the project I'll prolly breakdown and end up calling INTRO and ordering some VRODS! they look so nice
I have tubs, a 4 link and frame rails so yeah..
