New REV wheels just got here!!! 17x9's American Racing Licensed
check it out... they got here in 3 days.. very awesome here are the specs
17x9"
5x4.75
5" backspace
0mm offset
polished dish, light charcoal centers. I took these pics with my iTouch so the quality of the pics kinda suck. I will get better pictures later.
I weighed them as well. come in at 22.5lbs, not too bad if you ask me.
These were made as a cost alternative to the 2 piece Torq Thrust II wheels. These are single piece and cost about $200 LESS. Still American Racing, still awesome looking

They look nice, even have AR center caps. They seem like a good deal compared to the TTII. I can't wait to see pics once you get them on!! Thanks agian for checking the weight for me.

Yeah i have 16x8 TT2's right now, im pretty sure they are made in china as well. Anywho, i dont care, they are a great deal, look nice and are licensed by American Racing, not exactly an unauthorized rip off, so im good with them.
Thanks for the compliaments.
I did test fit them this afternoon, fit great, the edge of the wheel sits dead flush with the fender, good room on the inside as well.

Re: New REV wheels just got here!!! 17x9's American Racing Licensed
They look real nice! I wonder why the TTII's are two piece and more expensive? Is there some type of advantage a two piece wheel has over a one piece wheel?
I just don't understand why AR would sell a cheaper wheel to compete with one of thier own existing wheels - both look pretty much identical to me....
EDIT: Now that I look at the pic of the box they came in...it says "REV Wheels" - "Licensed" by AR....so it seems Rev wheels is a separate company. But still, even though I'm sure AR gets a kickback ($$) from Rev, those REV wheels still directly compete against thier own TTII's...weird...

its just a different kind that they make, yea they look a lot like TT but there still a different wheel. just like any company, there is always that cheaper but similar one that people often like to buy.

The TTII that tirerack sells are listed as a 1 piece wheel ( made in china), however they are listed at about 3 lbs lighter per wheel.
Here's a link to the torq thrust 2.1 on tire rack

well the 17x8 are $275... summit sells the 17.9.5 for $345
these REV wheels are a combination of the TT2 wheel and the AR Torque thrust M wheel.
here is a picture of the TTM wheel, there are subtle differences, like the spokes kind of come to a point, the lip is different and they dont use the TT2 center cap

Do they have a TTM version that you know of? I've always wanted black spoke ttms but they don't come in the right BS for our cars(still not sure why..) plus they cost a bit more, but at $139 you got a pretty good deal on yours imo.

They're 17x9 all around?
What is the size tires you'll be using and what is the backspacing for these wheels?
Spacers at all?

Well, I couldn't wait for KiLLJ0Y to post up pics. I found a very simular wheel - MB "Old School" wheels. I personally like em as much, and I got a decent deal on the web. Plus, there was a better selection of wheel widths and BS for the MB's - but the ones KiLLJ0Y got are sweet too. I ended up with 9.5" wides on the rear and 8" wides up front. A quick pic:

For those who want a wheel a certain way but they don't come that way, like with the black centers....Just buy the cheapest version (plain/satin/whatever) & get them powdercoated. Powdercoating generally costs between $75 & $100, depending on where you go.

They're 17" diameter, 9.5" wide with a 5.5" backspace for the rears. For the fronts - 17" diameter, 8" wide with a 4.5" backspace. I have P275/40R's on the rear, but I think I could've gone a little wider and they would still tuck in the sheetmetal. Traction is 20 times better nonetheless!! Now I'm putting a much bigger strain on the rest of the drivetrain. So far it's holding! (fingers crossed)

You probably saw the Classic 100-B Series wheels - also licensed by American Racing.
Thanks! Didn't notice that! lol
Again, I like the Rev wheels too. But these offered better backsets and sizes that weren't available in the Rev wheels. As far as price, I'd rather not post it on the board....

But finally we do! Looks really good man! Almost makes me want to get a set of those instead of C5's

I wanted that style before, but that edgy pair the other guy posted is growing on me, especially if I go for satin black instead of gloss and more of an aggressive look. But common as that TT style is, esp now its stock on 5th gen stangs which are a dime a dozen steers more toward that edge set more, esp since one of the many reasons I went for a 3rd gen fbod is because every weiney and their mother has a mustang...kind of like that scene in 60 seconds where nic cage rags on the ferraris for the same reason.
I like my car to be unique
At my school there are at least 6 mustangs(all of them 4th and 5th gen except 1 3rd gen) in the parking lot, and only 1 fbody, and its a 4th gen.
I still love the look of those rims, esp the TTMs, which are basically the same, but the spokes curve a little bit, just after coming back to this thread, realizing that those edgy angular ones are growing on me and might fit the body style a little better, but its funny cause back before this thread got revived I didn't care for them much, lol.
