Hey can anyone tell me the original tire sizes for an 86 camaro?

Reason is, we are restoring this 86 iroc-z and it is going to need new tires, the info tag on the door is rubbed off so i can only read 245/.. we have an irocz with a 305 tpi, the tire size now is 225/60/16.. the rims have the front and rear specific labels..

i dont know if we should try to find 245 and if they will fit the iroc rims.. or if we should replace the size it has now and say good enuff...

this is not a full restoration, we are trying to get it road legal first, then do the extra stuff, i wish we took pictures of the work we have done so far, new motor from an 89 tpi and made it work in this 86, just needs minor things and some body work...

245/50/16 is stock diameter and will fit perfectly on the factory 16x8 wheels, front and back

 

I thought it was 245/45 r16? definitely 1 or the other though....

or you can run a 255-50-16, only problem is it is a very uncommen size..they look good though......

I think the 15" wheel size is 215-65-15, but there are a multitude of sizes in 15" that you can go....
