This was my weekend project. Very successful.
Been gathering parts for this for a while... finally got everything together and a nice 3 day weekend to put them on.
Parts:
C5 Corvette rims: Front 17''x8'': Rear 18"x 9.5"
Spacers: 2in all around.
Tires: Continentals for now..going to be replaced ASAP
Found these locally for 300 bucks. Guy had painted them black and they looked like crap... Tires are basically shot, so am picking up a new set this week sometime

So I stripped them down, primed them, sprayed my base coat, then masked everything I sprayed my black.

Turned out pretty damn good. My initial thought was I was going to polish them...but the center caps are platic, so it wouldn't have looked right. So I decided to paint them..which turned out quite well.

Re: This was my weekend project. Very successful.
So this morning I started attacking getting everything put on. Which turned out a little more difficult then I expected because the spacers I bought which were branded for "thirdgens" were machined just a little to small. So I had a buddy who has a lath, take less the 1/32 of an inch off and ta da, they fit. Got those bolted on, cleaned up my breaks a little and then got the wheels on.
The result:

I want to go with a little taller tire...I don't like too low of a profile. Not sure what exactly I'll end up with. Any one else running 17/18's feel free to put your two cents on what size tire.
Next project is installing my 2001 LS1 rear end... that'll have to wait another month or two.
Enjoy guys

Thanks Jake!
Yessir. Full 2in drop. I absolutely love the stance it gave it. The cars handling is absolutely stunning. My exhaust was reworked by the previous owner (original) and he wasn't to worried about keeping it close to the body..so I need to get that reworked...I'll have it come right off the headers and straight back.

I appreciate it man. Still working on her. Eventually I might feel good enough to get her in some shows. I have lots of people already trying to get me to show her...But I have a few things I need to get done before I feel good presenting it.
Need to repaint that rear bumper, install my LS rear and get my exhaust reworked.

Re: This was my weekend project. Very successful.
I have a full Flowmaster system on my 88. Sounds sexy but I wish it was alittle louder at idle but i can live haha btw that color is beautiful. Did you get it repainted or was it the previous owner? If it was you, how much did it run ya? (if you dont mind me asking)
I bought the car from the original owner. It was stock red and the paint was gone. I painted the car myself in a garage for $1200. About 2 months worth of on and off prep and then a month worth of painting, wet sanding and buffing. The rear bumper didn't ad-hear right...about 2 months ago is started peeling. I am gonna have to re prep and paint it. Going to use something called "Bull-Dog" which is an adhesion promoter for rubber. That'll give me a chance to shave out that silly rear emblem valley as well...so all in all not to horrible a thing.
I can get you a paint code...but it was a Chevrolet color that I had custom mixed to get a little darker color...(don't like to much pink or orange in my reds) so we toned it down. Red Effect with metallic and pearl.

Nice work on the wheels, they look great on your car and I love the color of your car too.
Hey can I ask you a question, what muffler to you have on there and is it posible to post a pic of it.

Thanks!
I have two Flowmasters tucked up under there...Not stock exhaust..true dual pipes coming from both heads. I can get a pic of it tomorrow if you would like. It sounds GREAT! I'll give it that...but I have to rework it to tuck it up closer to the body due to the spring setup I am running.

I am running flow masters too. They sound great, but I don't like how low the exhaust is in places...I am having it professionally reworked from the headers back. True Dual is what I would like.

It's funny how I just came inside the house , I was out in the garage thinking of taking some c5 wheels from the '74 vette and putting them on the camaro AND I stumble on to your thread! I was trying to picture how they would look on my camaro then I saw your. Your car looks great with them on but not so sure on mine. You have it lowered where mine is not.
