pics of my new black IROC rims and tires

So I did a lot of research and ended up getting the following: 20x9 black IROC rims with 0 offset front and rear. For tires I went with 285/30 on the back and 255/30 on the front. I have not yet experienced any rubbing issues on front or back and did not hammer or massage anything.

From doing my fair share of reading I know that this look isn't for everyone. If you want to share your opinion good or bad on this thread then feel free. I think it turned out really well.

I wanted to do 18's on the front but could only find them in a 13 offset. The 0 offset on the rears brought them right to where I think they look good. I was a touch worried with rear 0 offset and the 285 sticking out too far, but like I said, I think it turned out really well. Not anytime soon, but I may lower it down an inch on the back and inch.5 in the front. I'm really glad I found the black IROC rims. They definitely match the car well and it adds in some contrast that occasionally is lacking on the full chrome ones. If you notice, the IROC hub caps even fit into the rims! It is almost stock looking. I know the two rear tire/fender pics are skewed on the angle in which I took the pictures, but it still shows the vast improvement.

on a side not... If you look close my interior is all ripped out. I put in new black carpet and redid all of the other interior pieces in black. It's all done it just need put back in. The leather seats are out of an 02 Trans Am. I also have some clear side marker lights and the clear front bumper lights that I need to install.

Re: pics of my new black IROC rims and tires

I never noticed 19's while I was looking for my stuff. Some 18x8.5 with 13mm offset, and then 20x8.5 and 20x9 in at least 2 different offsets (0 and 10). And then of course there were 22, 24, 26... All of which are too big for my tastes. The 20's are about the limit for my liking on this car.

Re: pics of my new black IROC rims and tires

I did find just the slightest bit of rubbing. It is behind the front tires on the rubber wheel well liner. I think it is more the the liners problem than the tire though. At full lock it barely hits the rear liner. However, I can take my finger and easily push the liner in that spot in further. I think if I get in there I can probably heat the liner and bend it or something like that.

I was gonna say the same. I like that you didn't put any all-blacked out wheels on. Nice!

Edit: I just realized those are 20's?!? I'm usually not a fan, but they look like they belong there somehow...I expected there to be little if any sidewalls on those tires...are they taller?

20s would be the absolute max size I'd put on a car that I owned, and at that it would be strictly to show it off and cruise in town and not lead foot it like the usual stock rims size car. But I like the original Iroc wheels look with silver spokes and black inserts.

Re: pics of my new black IROC rims and tires

I was honestly dreading scrolling down, and I am really glad that I did! The "Black irocs" look awesome! So happy to see that someone finally came out with something other than chrome for these!

Where did you buy them?

I like the non chrome look but I think I would only go with a 18" wheel max on these cars. To me they are just a taad to big but I do think your in the right direction..

Re: pics of my new black IROC rims and tires

The tires are taller. About .5 inches on the front and 1 inch on the back (so 1/4 taller side wall front And 1/2 taller back... So the back fender now measures a quarter inch taller than the front fender, which I don't mind. I do need to lower it a little though. I just can't decide which way to go.

I bought them on eBay. The wheels were only $700 shipped. I thought that was a great price.

Nice wheels! Kinda like the stock wheels on steroids, lol.
They may be 20s but they don't look jive-time.
Good choice!
