My dream wheels are custom made Trans Am GTA wheels in sizes 18x9 for the front and 18x12 for the rear. I plan to have them made sometime in 2013 after I finish up everything else with my car.

Mini tub? If not, those 12's are going to be sticking way out.

My favorite?

Sorry, I should clarify. I posted a picture of the 2 piece S1R which has a slightly redesigned face. it's available in 16-19"

The regular 2 piece S1 has old style face and only comes in 15" now.

The 3 peice S1 has the old style face but is available 18-19"

These are the wheels I plan on getting. I still keep going back and forth between the S1R and the 3 piece S1. I would get 19x11 +10 front and 19x12 +20 rear.

Tenzo R Type M in Matte Bronze - I just REALLY wished these wheels were available wider. I did my research and I'd really have to go with a 5x4.5 and run adapters.

I just wasn't positive if the +25, +37, +45 offset would work. I'm still considering running these in the spring.

Yes, I'm definitely mini-tubbing my GTA. I had mini-tubs installed on my '97 WS6 last year so I could fit 19 x 13 wheels and 345-30-19 tires and not have them sticking out from under the quarters. The ride height is also very important to me. I think it came out extremely well, and this is the same look I'm going for with my GTA.

That stance is THE best looking 4thgen I've ever seen. I'd love to have a mini tub done on my 'vert so I could tuck 315/30-18 on the rear but I'm too big of a cheapskate!

I think my dream wheels would be some CCW's (which are NOT JWL or TUV approved, but have a long, proven track record), but I'd have them in dark silver or a bronze-ish color.

Re: These would be my dream wheels, what are yours?

I'm diggin these "this week" Maybe even with the centers gold with a polished lip. Somewhat of a retro look in keeping the gta wheel colors.
And here's the Jongbloed's 8t2 Z-Chev I think is referring too.

checked jongbloed's current offerings and ANY of those would look good on a thirdgen very expensive and exotic though with forged aluminum and magnesium parts.Made in California USA

Quoted $7,500 for a staggered set 18x9 and 19x10. A little too much for forged one piece wheels without tires. But hey I can dream too.

Adv1 briefly offered a spin cast wheel at less than half that price but only in 20s and I think they are discontinued. Flowspec was what they were called

That's a little like the flowspec wheel that was much much cheaper.

Re: These would be my dream wheels, what are yours?

BTW, the wheel in the pic is the same design as the flowspec wheel that I mentioned those were around 3500. Another option is the VMR 705, it doesn't have the concavity that the ADV1s have but the 19x9.5 rears are pretty concave and would work nice w a set of 8.5s up front. the fronts are around ET 25, the rears 33 if I'm not mistaken.

Re: These would be my dream wheels, what are yours?

I spoke with both VMR as well as ADV.

ADV got back to me within hours and multiple times, and VMR took over a week to get back with one answer. That says something.

The VMR 705's require a spacer to run them, while the ADV 5.1 are made to order.

ADV 5.1 can be as wide as you want. VMR 705's are only 9.5 at the widest.

VMR 705 are sub 3K for a 18 19 staggered set, while ADV was over 7K.

I dont really see myself with the 705's as they dont really peak my interest because of size and lack of concavity. Id love to own a set of ADV5.1's, but over 10K for wheels and tires exceeds the value of my car as of right now, maybe in the future who knows

Re: These would be my dream wheels, what are yours?

The VMRs will not require a spacer, I have had ET 35 bimmer wheels on the front, 8.5 wide...not a problem. If you have upgraded brakes w/ a seperate disc or 1LE hub conversion, even better as it pushes the wheel out. The ET22s are perfect for the rear.

You can get a 295 tire on a set of 9.5s, that's probably more tire than most here have

I have seen the VMRs for just a little over a grand.

Just relaying what vmr told me over the phone. They gave me the exact size spacers I would need for the staggered set.

Sorry, its been awhile. Off the top of my head I believe it was ~20mm/ ~40mm spacers for the staggered setup. Not 100% sure so don't quote me.

+25 offset will probably work. My 17" X 8.5" C5 Z06 replicas are +26 offset and require no spacers.
