Plasti dip,Polish,or paint??

anyways my bosses father picked up a 69 camaro and the guy he bought it from also gave him these 15 inch american racing wheels with 4 almost new tires.

being as my iroc eats up tires i picked up the rims and tires for 200 bucks
the crome is starting to flake off so im going to have them glass beaded and either polish them myself or have them painted , and also thought about plasti dipping them for now after they get blasted

what do u guys think

Me......... they tires look old check D.O.T. numbers and u have high power cars the tires look skinny like 205 or 215 so u will eat these at idle lol and rims junk them or use as rollors. But if u must use the we must see your car what color is it how it look like a stock 89 IROC or tubed out with shorten axles

2 of them are 245/60/15 and 2 are 235/50/15 or 235/55/15 have to dbl check the size on the smaller ones

they are perfectly fine just a lil dirty no dry rot or anything

cars not tubed or anything still have the stock width rear in it
white stock loking iroc with a black hood for now chances are ill take the tires off and mount them blackwall side out on the rims i have on the car now which are old school centerlines
the car eats up tires no matter what i put on the rears , my fronts are good for now and its to exspensive to drive aroud on drag radials or slicks , i keep those for the track only

Maybe I missed something... You're putting those on a 1500hp IROC? Awesome.

I'm staring at a can of plasti-dip right now so I say do it that way.

the 427 twin 76mm turbo engine is on hold atm shortblock is done turbos are here but ive taken the money i set aside for the project and bought up a few guns that may very well get banned sooned but will be grandfathered in

still need to pick up an ferret 50 or barret 50 cal sniper for my collection

so for now the original twin turbo sbc 355 is back in the car , these tires are just for me to use for my daily driving, i do intend to drive this car every day when the weather is nice

car has a whole sleeper theme going on think these rims will add to it

Stop hitting the gas so hard from every stop lol. That M107 is a bad Mf'er, u could shoot me where u stand now and last time I looked it was a 10k rifle. But anyway a side shot would be nice. Put one rim on and let's see how it looks. But polish would be best. U worried about tires a u can buy 10k guns. If u gonna make fast cars that comes with it.

the barrets c ould be had for 5-7k new, witht he whole current gun situation right now everything is backorderd by 5-9 months. and everyone is price gouging the hell out of everything.so even finding a lightly used one is prolly around 12-14k in this market which is beyond what i will pay .so ive been looking for a 50bmg ar upper conversion since u can still pick these up for 1,500-3k

hell places are even selling boxes of .22 ammo for 40-45 bucks for a box of 50 , and the bulk bricks of 500 are selling for over 100 bucks online , those same boxes of 500+ were 9-12 bucks each its friggen insane. im glad i stocked up a long time ago lol

anyways it will prolly be monday or so before i get a chance to get those rims on the iroc to see what they look like , im working tonight, and my car is stored at my friends farm and they dont work on sundays

Re: Plasti dip,Polish,or paint??

I don't think we will loose are guns even though we don't have the right to them. But it makes us who we are. I think its just a scare because ppl runnin in to schools and parks with guns that has no need in anyone house. Why would I need a S&W M500? A 9mm with do better. I love big guns not so much .22 and .38 more into 40 cals and Ks. But hey I hope don't loose them.

I love the look of stock wheels more so 85-87 IROCs but the polish rims on white Camaro's looks good

i dont think anything is going to be different in a few years, except the people who just buy the ammo just because are going to be selling it cheap. i heard people are buying it who dont even have guns. i wont buy it at the prices you see. i just dont do any recreational shooting anymore, unfortunately for me and the local shooting places

Maybe a sleeper, but you will go absolutely nowhere with those tires - might as well put monster mudders on it.

I would be looking at fitting 315-35-17 drag radials in the rear if you are serious...

i have full slicks for the track , i dont street race havent for years , so they are just for everday street driving , i put over 520 miles a month the car , well atleast i will once the weather clears up a lil more

one 120 mile round trip a week + and sometimes as much as 40-70 miles extra each week. come this summer i also have a few 600+ mile round trips planned to go out to vegas , and might even make it out to cali to go surfing once or twice this summer .

that kind of driving will wear out a set of dot drag radials in no time

Why would he buy new tires when he just got wheels and almost new tires for 200?

I'd say plastidip them, you might like it better; if you don't like it you can peel it off and polish the wheels.

Check youtube, I've never done it myself, but I'm going to try it with my stock wheels.

Re: Plasti dip,Polish,or paint??

if he is eating tires up Im sure he will eat them up too when its time to replace them get some that will last longer. that is all im getting at. And if he dip them with the chrome on them and its already peeling 0_o well i guess i can just paint over my car with the clear coat peeling off. He said he was going to take the chrome off. So chrome is out, PD, polish, or paint he said he was going with. But it comes down to what u like best. Get a can of PD do a rim if u like if go for it, if not peel it off and try the next one
