Wheel Fitment Help?!

I want to buy wheels for a 92 camaro rs. I want wide enough wheels in the rear to sit flush with the fender and want thick tires. Only problem is, I dont know what will fit. Basically it will be a 17 inch rim in the rear with beefy tires. I want to know what the widest rim along with the perfect offset that will not only sit flush with the fender, but will not rub. I just wanna know what will work. If you could help with the front as well, that'd be perfect!

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

what is the offset for the wheels? i bought wheels that are 17x8 with 255/40/17 and they dont fit because of offset. its like 0 or something. im selling them for $20 more than what i bought them for and someone is gonna buy them. i just dont know what my offset has to be along with tire size so it will fit and not rub in rear. i want thick tires in rear and normal in front so im able to turn without rubbing.

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

basically, i want 10s in the rear, but just to have that, what is the offset im looking for so they won't rub with 17s along with a decent tire size?

As Zach mentioned CTW Motorsports Wheels (my company if you didn't know) will fit - as will the Ronals, the Weld TR-S and a few select others in 17" x 9.5".

You can run 10" wheels with the right BS/offset. but the selection of 285 width tires is a fraction of the tires available in 275. 315 is quickly becoming a scarce size these days also.

5.25" BS or 0mm offset brings the tire to the edge of all 4 fender wells in the 9.5" size.

Is the 4th gen rear 1.5" or 2 " wider?

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

I run 285-40/17 on a 17x9.5 with 5.5 backspacing on the rear without any issues and the tires don't stick out past the fenders.

Thanks! I'm gonna order some as soon as I can. Also, where did you buy your spacers?

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

Are you sure about being 2" wider on both sides? Another member on here said 1" per side.

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

2" on each side hence why people dont use adapter on the rear
With camaro or corvette offset wheels
1" is not correct

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

Ok, thanks. So I would need 9.5 wide wheel with 71/2" backspacing with 4th gen rear to get the same results as a 9.5 wide wheel with 51/2" backspacing on a 3rd gen rear?

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

I was looking at oe wheels website and the have 18x9.5 with 54 offset and 18x10.5 with 56 offset. Would 265-35/18 up front with 2" sspacers and 315- 35/18 with no spacers and 4th gen rear work?

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

275s up front is ideal

rears would work with no adapter iirc as long you have 4t gen rear
take a look at the corvette wheel thread there's ton of info there

Re: Wheel Fitment Help?!

So 2" spacers would be enough up front? I have 1.5" now.
