XXR 531 18x9.5/11

As my swap comes to a end and finish small details

As you guys may know or seen is that I get bored easy with my wheels and haven't fully like a set of wheels fully . So decided to start saving for some custom ones probably issforged or something after I deploy. But in the mean time have bartered different sets of wheels

The 19s would fit perfectly and be easier but I'm biased towards 18s and I'm not fully sold on19 inch wheels I like more tire

I got the chromium black

How setup looks

Have you found the 18x11's in 5x120? I've only seen them in 5x114 in that size.

I have 2 sets of adapters that go to 114.3

The selection of wheels are more available and easier to sell or barter that bolt pattern , especially out here in cali

Re: XXR 531 18x9.5/11

Lol yea Paul but not to worried about that to much , been looking for track wheels for little events here and there but that's not priority right now and isn't a track only car so I keep that I mind

My xxr 521 where about the same weight and have no major complaints

The gain in width and larger tires and improved responsiveness feel and extra grip is worth it in my books for a daily driver

But you make a valid point

I believe stock wheels "iroc" weigh in about 22-24 lbs iirc with out tires

That was my exact problem. My IROC probably went through 10 diffrent set of wheels till I bought my CCWs. Take your time selecting and everytime you look at it you will say "Damn it looks so good".

Re: XXR 531 18x9.5/11

I had some steel wheels also when i first got the car but i wont post pics of that lol

Ideally i would like a retro iroc style wheel concave with lip 18x10 all around using a step lip

Was thinking of getting 18" irocs and widening them to 9.5 and do stock like color using gunmetal for the color with machined finish

Thanks , I agree with you no doubt , just experimenting with different styles , nothing have been set in stone in the wheel department for awhile ,

been saving for real set of wheels either ccw, rotiform, and I like one style from adv1 the list was alot longer lol
Just waiting after deployment...

Did you put it together or get it from a vendor? I had been looking at these wheels for a while but the fact that they don't make them in 5x120 turned me off... it never occurred to me to redrill them.

What brake upgrade do you want ?

I kept on searching and always on Craigslist and eBay and other forum classifieds and scored a deal got both calipers forward under 200 if I remember all I did was painted and got new rotors and pads I probably have less than 400-500 into everything , I just gathered here and there only think I hot was hubs and bracket

Re: XXR 531 18x9.5/11

Wow, these wheels, your car, amazing. I'm looking to go 18's as well and would like all 4 corners to be the same for ease of tire rotation and buying sets of 4 rather than 2 and 2. Anyway, thanks for the great pictures. Looks like 18x9.5 is what I'll end up going with, stretched tires and rolling the fenders. Can I get a shot with the car on the move? Would like to see the suspension travel and how the wheels tuck when the suspension is working. Or maybe tighter pictures of the fender to tire gap. Thanks a lot.

Re: XXR 531 18x9.5/11

Don't need to roll fender for 9.5 fits well within fender

I would recommend 19x10 setup as it comes in 5x120 pattern and would be simple setup

Re: XXR 531 18x9.5/11

I'm looking into extended a-arms and will try and match the spacing in the rear. A differential swap may change this. Thanks for the info. I know 9.5" fit fine, but I don't like the lip in the fender, nor do I like bubble tires. You may be thinking of 'pulling' the fender, I'm just looking to 'roll' that lip up, not pull it out for clearance. Going for the "Hella Flush" look, just not so much like the "Hella Flush" style you see when searching those words. I just want the tire to just miss the fender during travel into the fender well. Thanks again for the info. 19's may be going to the bigger side of things. I was thinking 17's in the beginning. 18's are right there in the middle.

Re: XXR 531 18x9.5/11

I'm very aware of what you going for

Honestly extended a arms would be custom suspension route and the amount of money you would invest since there's no over the counter a arm like that is just waste time and money ,

Upgrading your brakes to ls1 setup pushes out front about .3"
A brembo setup and 1le hub pushes front out about .6"
And that matches the rear width but not exactly

Your better off just getting custom wheel adapters to exactly what you want

Search xxr 521 there a member that posted xxr 521 18x10 setup that was pretty flush and looks good

I think a 18x10 setup would look far better for what you going for than a 9.5 to get the look you want you going to need a narrow tire like 235 or 245 the narrower the wheel the even more narrow the tire needs to be , hence why all the Stanced imports are running at least a 10" wide wheel unless your a civic , and it's going to look more like a low rider with 13" spokes than any thing else which is really distasteful on a larger car ,
That's my opinion
but it's up to you

My sig pic are 18x10 285/35

He is running same wheels but with 235/45 iirc

Re: XXR 531 18x9.5/11

When you do buy the spacers don't buy the ones with the hub centric ring on them they won't clear your hub , I'm not sure what the xxr 531s require for spacer depends on which offset you chose. I'm running the xxr 526 18x9 up front with +35 mm offset . I use a 1.5" adapter spacer for the front I bought on eBay .

ok cool ill pass on the ones with the rings. so do only the front ones need spacers because of the front hub, right?

yea old and sold these wheels to another member on this thread which he has more pics iirc there 18x11 I had got and if I'm not mistaken all center bores on xxr wheels are the same iirc 73. something I could be wrong for rears I redrilled to thirdgen pattern and they fit I need to look up old notes I have and verify but I don't remember enlarging center bore

that's odd all my spacers ebay and custom where lug and hub centric iirc there are some that don't fit but you have to buy one specific to our cars

and you need to research adapter size is based on your wheel specs and how much tuck or how flush you want wheels to be over the years acquired a assortment of adapters lol
