Another XXR 521 third gen - 1992 Firebird
Just got them in the mail today. Still need to measure for tires, but will post pics as soon as they are on! P.S.- sorry for pics, just from my Note II will get better ones soon.
Specs are 18x10 all around with a +12 offset and a 3.5" lip. They are flat black with chrome rivets.
Suggestions on tires?

Nice do they come in 17X12 with the offset we need for our cars and can you get them with just our bolt pattern

You can go 275s or 285s all around
like in my thread I had 285/35s , price difference is minimal so I got wider tire tad more grip lol
Unless you want to run larger rear tire like a 295 and 285 front

275 or 285 fits on the 10". Suggest you get 4 of the same size to rotate...

Thats the way I have always done in the past I will be doing a lot of mods soon and that will include 76 mm turbo so Im looking for as much rubber as I can get under the car do you think I can get away with 335 in the front that would be sick if I could

I agree, but it is a option as some people like a larger rear tire

I think that would be a pinch with a 335

To fit 12in wide going to need to alot work to inner wheel on the rear ,
and street legal drag radial
But can accomplish in a 10" or 11" wheel

Re: Another XXR 521 third gen - 1992 Firebird
As stated in my other thread for my car, I have a 4th gen rear end which sticks out an extra 2in or so than the 3rd gen rear ends, so when I mounted my wheels they stuck out quuuuite a bit. So I may have to switch back to a third gen rear end because I'm not a fan of that look.
Well anyway, my tires will be here on the 27th and I'm off all day so I will have pics then.

Yea +12 offset is more ideal , can redrill bolt pattern and will be a direct bolt on but once you have 4th gen rear than they wont fit

Stretch and poke guys add negative camber to eliminate rubbing like that. Curious what's done to your suspension. I like how it sits though I wouldn't go that low with mine. The roads in Toronto are no where near good enough.

Love the rims. Needs more tire for my taste. I don't care for the stretched look. Car looks great.

Hey guys,Thought I would share my 3rd gen on XXR 521s. Has a bit of poke on the rear, I know some folks aren't fans of that look, but I dig it.

Looks pretty good. What size and type of tires do you have? And those are +12 all around with no spacers, or is that a 4th gen rear?

If you're talking to me and not the guy above, I am running Dunlop Direzza 101's which are, aside from Falken 512's, the best tire to use for stretching. 235/45/18 all around. I have a 2" spacer up front and a 4th gen rear end.
Wheel specs are 18x10 with a +12 offset and a 3.5" lip

Thanks man. All 4 rims are 18x8.5 tires are 235 40 18. I'm running a 1.25" adapter for the front and a 2" adapter for the rear.. I plan to go with a 18x10 for the rear in the future with the +12 offset, possibly a 20x10, cuz I would like to run a fatter tire than a 235.

Re: Another XXR 521 third gen - 1992 Firebird
I think it's a really nice look. Not something I would go out of my way to do but it definitely works on your car. I'd rock that look no problem.
What size tires did you end up going with? Did you end up using adapters? I was always worried the proper offset adjustment for BMW wheels would be somewhere in that no man's land between spacers and adapters.
And for the record, 17x12's are a complete waste of time. You're gonna have a REAL hard time finding anything wider than a 315 in 17s, and there's only 4 or 5 options in that size and most of them are Nitto. 315s fit on a 17x11 and a 17x11 is really the only thing that's going to fit well in a 3rd gen fender without a minitub.

Do you have part numbers and where you got those, they look amazing. also do you have to run spacers on third gen rear ends or was that just for a wider track

Not a huge fan of stretched tires but the car looks good!
I was looking at the same rims 12mm (5.97" BS) offset all around. Did you try them without the 2" Spacers up front? I'm sure they would fit almost perfect without rolling the lip etc on my car since I have C5 Z06 brakes which push out the track width 0.300 per side. If im doing my math right 12mm offset should be pretty damn close to perfect with a 10" wheel.
I know with a stock width rear they will fit perfect in the rear since i ran 15x10" rims on my last iroc with 6" backspace.
Either way looks awesome with that colour combo.
