Re: tire size

Personally I would run 245/45/17 on the 8's and 275/40/17 on the 9.5's.
A 295 would probably fit the rear just fine with the right offset but needs a wider wheel than 9.5" in my opinion.

Re: tire size

Skip the 8" on the front and go 9.5" all around with a 275-40-17 tire on all 4 corners.

A square setup doesn't encourage understeer but if your going straight I guess that's not a problem :-)

What does this mean ?
I only ask because I've never heard it before.

75% of braking is done by the front tires on any vehicle. The wider the tire, the better the braking - plus the increase in handling anf turn-in.

The tiny speed penalty of a 275 up front more than offsets the ability of the car to go into a ditch or crash going around a turn. As someone else said, understeer is a concern.

Re: tire size

If you only want to go straight, why not just use a 15" wheel and a good drag radial? More traction available with a 15
