Thinking of buying me some weld rts in 15x9. Weld calls for a 5.5 backspace and I would run a 275 mt on the back. I know I have to use the medium pad height since I have ls rear brakes. Anyone got an idea of how these will fit up? I don't want the tire stick out past the fender.

 

Fitment should be quite good, wheel will be under the fender with no stickout

 

Pulled the trigger today and picked up the rears.

 

I doubt you can fit a 15x9 up front, but you can try a rear to see. And with the rears being a 5.5" BS, you probably can't tuck an 8.5 up front without it looking goofy.

 

Going with these on the rear only. Going to go 15x4 on the front.

 

5.5 back space..your going to rub inside.. I also run a weld wheel RTS. my backs are a low pad and fit fine with the PBR calipers. and new pads..just so ya know.. when the car was new I ran weld Drag Lites. bolt on.

 

What should I have went with?

 

this is a 15x10,275 6.5 back space. Low pad. (low pad fits)


this below shot shows a 15x8 with a 4.5 back space. with a 28x12.5x15 ET street on a weld drag lite tire fits under car. no rubbing
its close to what a 275 60 15 would be.. other tires will have a stiffer side wall. you could do a 15x8.5..check fit and see.


note in the above pic the fronts are a med pad rts wheel. 15x3.5 wide..see how the stick out

below pic show what a med pad looks like on. front/back will be the same.


take a look at the lower shot.. low pad wheel nexed to a med pad wheel (RTS WHEELS)

 

I would test fit. get what you want. the way you want..i know on my car. I played with dif sets and sizes of wheels.

in the end I did cut out the bump stops to fit 325 50 15s tucked under the car.
and weld wheel aluma star2.0 on the fronts..

 

Stuck a wheel on yesterday, looks to fit perfect. Now to figure out what tire and size to run. Going to grab one of my 15x4 fronts for my 4th gen and see how that fits on the front since I have ls brakes all around.
