Second opinions on this xxr wheel setup?

I am looking at some xxr 521 wheels but am unsure what will fit and what wont.

I would like to have 18x10 wheels but as for backspacing options, either +12 or +25 mm offsets running with a 1in. 1.25in or 2 in spacer up front? What works and what does not?

I've been looking though the boards and it seems a +12 with a 2in spacer works best here? or a +15 offset with a 1.25 in spacer?

The car is a 1983 Camaro, and the rear swapped from a 2002 Ws6 trans am. Its not lowered as of yet, and sitting at stock ride height.

As for tires i have seen suggestions ranging from 235 or 245 to 275s or 285s? who here has any setups like these, and for clarification purposes what would you recommend? and how low could i bring the car with that setup?

Many Thanks!!

You cant run those offsets with the front and back. The +12 probably would bolt right up to the car but your rear is ~4" wider than stock.

You probably need to start looking for wheels that fit 4th gen Camaro and Corvette's. That will require you to use a spacer on the front and no spacer on the rear.

Thanks for the comment!

Even with either 4th gen or corvette wheels ill still have the same problem and need a spacer for the front... There are people who have gotten these wheels to work, i just need to confirm what combinations fit.
the wheels only come in +12 or +25 offset with a 18x10 wheel and a 5x120 lug pattern.

You cant use those wheels period unless you want them to stick way out the rear wheel wells. It does not matter weather you have +12 or +25 since you have a rear that is 4" wider than what came stock on your car. Spacers will just push them out further.

If you had the original rear end the +12 offset wheels would probably/possibly work with no spacers.

I don't mean to bum you out, you are stuck looking for more backspacing because of the rear.

Tell me about it haha, my stock wheels are already sticking out, although i don't mind it much (mostly because i don't have a choice lol) so if i run the 1.25in spacers up front with the +12mm offset wheels and no spacers in the back, they should look somewhat proportional?? I cant imagine them sticking out any further than they do now.

Re: Second opinions on this xxr wheel setup?

You want to run a 275 or 285 width tire on 10" wheels.

4th gen rear swaps cause problems very few realize until it is time to fit wheels - 3rd gen rear cars can run the same offset front and rear, 4th gen rears require you to have 2 to 2.25" more BS to put the wheel in the same position relative to the fender.

To get wheels flush with the fenders with a 10" wheel, you would need 5.75" BS front, 7.75" or so in the rear.

Re: Second opinions on this xxr wheel setup?

So if i dont mind the offset look everything will be fine right? Haha I take it I'll have to space the fronts like you were saying, I don't care if they are even really, as long as the back is same or further out at least.

Most likely a 2 in spacer up front might help even things out?

I'll take a look into what the total back spacing will be with these wheels plus the spacer.

Would a staggered setup work better in your opinion?

Re: Second opinions on this xxr wheel setup?

You will run into another problem on the front. My xxr wheels have a 35mm offset in the front and I used a 1.25" spacer. This was just enough to allow the wheels not let the hubs interfere. If you get the 25mm offset, I'm not sure how far out the wheels will stick with a 1" spacer or even if it will allow it to clear the hub.

I guess I'm confused on the offset direction then, is the 25mm closer to the right or the left of the center of the wheel?

Are you running 521s as well?

Re: Second opinions on this xxr wheel setup?

I'm running the 526s. The more offset, the farther inwards the wheel will be basically. Our cars from the factory have a 0 and I think 16mm offset. Corvettes and 4th gens have 35mm which is why 2" spacers are needed to compensate.
