TIRES FOR 17x11 WHEELS?

So a couple months ago I got some zr1 wheels. If I'd have known the limited tires available for the 17x11 wheels I would've stayed with all 4 9.5's I only drive the IROC a few hundred miles a year, but I don't wanna lose any cornering ability by running drag radials. Only other options I've found are sumitomos, which have crappy reviews, or Goodyear's at $400 a piece! Should I just bite the bullet and spend $800 for 2 tires knowing they will last probably many years??

Check out Kumho and Nitto tire selections as well. But last resort the GY tires are a good tire, just expensive.

Like I posted, in that size Nitto has a selection and Kumho has 1 or 2.

Nitto does have a good selection and offered at a lot of places so you should be able to find a pretty good deal on the one that suits your driving and power level. Mickey Thompson also has a 315/35/17 Street Comp tire that you can shop around and get for around $160 that's made by Cooper Tires, although Cooper doesn't offer that size in their own brand.

Re: TIRES FOR 17x11 WHEELS?

For some reason when I was browsing last week only found nitto drag radials. While browsing tonight I did find they make a 555 g2 which isn't a dr. Don't know why I couldn't find it before? Little under 200 a piece. I'm OK with that!

Read good reviews on that one, but I thought it was a drag radial?

That tire is available in both DR and "regular".

Oh, OK. I'll have to do a little more shopping then. Fall seems to have moved in early this year so I may end up waiting till spring to get tires now tho, lol!

The NT05 is a high-performance street tire. The NT05R is the drag radial. Two different tires, similar names.

Re: TIRES FOR 17x11 WHEELS?

My step-son is trying the Nitto Motivo 315/35R17s on the rear of his '87 Mustang, it's the only all-season tire in that size. He found 10 other choices in that size, about a third of them were various other Nitto offerings.
