Hawks GTA Wheel weight with Tires
I have been looking at these wheels since they were announced. Does anyone have the weight of these wheels with tires? I would like to compare them with stock 16 inch wheels with tires.

That makes sense - tires are about 26lbs and the wheels about 24lbs. 24 lbs is about 8lbs heaver than the OEM 16" wheels, which are just over 16lbs.
Around a 8 to 10lb increase vs. the 16" wheel with the same tires.

Man that has gotta be costing at least 0.2 sec in the quarter and 0.5 mph on top end - better skip those and go with something lighter

I changed tires on my Ecoboost truck and it slowed noticeably in acceleration. Same wheels, same tire size, just a more rugged, heavier tire.
I know just a lighter flywheel is something around 10 RWHP on a stock LS1.

For rotating parts (brakes, wheels & tires - but not driveline parts like driveshafts and flywheels) it is 4:1. So 1lb of extra wheel weight is worth about 4lbs of dead weight in a vehicle. As an example, running a 40lb tire and wheel combo vs. a 50 lbs one is worth about 160lbs in dead weight equivalent.
I have a customer story that proves this - I sent a set of wheels (CTW) to a guy who was running Cragar soft 8 wheels on his race car - the weight difference ended up being 15lbs per wheel, he mounted the tires used before. So 60lbs of rotating mass was removed (about 240lbs equivalent) and due to the mass reduction, the car behaved like it gained 30hp in terms of acceleration, was less tiring to drive (it is a chump car), and handling improved - in his case he went from an 8" wheel to a 9.5", so the tire was much more stable in the bead.
Also heavier wheels and tires are harder to control with dampers and can sometimes wear out parts quicker (if the weight is extreme).
The rule of thumb for driveline parts such as flywheels and driveshafts is 10:1, so swapping in a 5lb lighter DS is like taking 50lbs of dead mass out of the car.

Thanks for weighting that Brett. I have an extra 16 inch salad shooter 4th gen wheel in the garage that I weighed and it was 42.8 with a tire. So 7-10 pound sounds about right per wheel.

I ended up picking up a set of dimpled 16 inch GTA wheels. I weighed them and the factory 91-92 Camaro wheels. These are all weighed with my bathroom scale.
93-95ish 16 inch Camaro wheels with tires 42.8
91-92 16 inch Camaro wheels with BFG Sport Comp 2 45.0 pounds
89-92 16 inch dimpled GTA Wheels dimpled with tires 39.7
93-95ish 16 inch Camaro wheels with tires 42.8
