Probably hood pins through the hatch? It's not very uncommon to do in a race car.

I'm actually debating removing the entire latch assembly on my s10 street/strip truck and pinning the gate shut. It should lose a few pounds and get rid of that annoying tailgate raddle at idle.

Horn weighs about 2 or 3 pounds going to wire new steering wheel with cheap light horn and should loose more weight up front and more weight on back because of battery but more traction because of weight and more evened out weight due to less weight on right than left on the back anyways wat u all think

Re: Weight reduction weight transfer traction first 100lb from bone stock

I also started reducing weight my quick idea of reducing my first 100lb is...

1.remove all rear interior to skeleton.

2.remove(cut/grind) any body metal like ..
Spare tire mount bar thing I'm guessing 5-7lb
Spare tire jack toolsguessing 25lb
Rear latchmotor and mount rail guess 12-16lb
All old cushionsound mat stuff gues5_10
Lighter battery guess 15-20lb
Battery relocation to rear
Intake lightest cold air I can find ? 3-10lb
Exhaust mods/fan lightest I can find ? 15-20lb
$20 Lightweight USB only stereo 2 spkr ? 5-8lb
Ac delete if I find out it does not work ?5-10lb
Let me know what you guys think

Re: Weight reduction weight transfer traction first 100lb from bone stock

i wouldn't cut out the rear hatch latch or drill any more holes man... its not really worth hacking this car up more to save a couple pounds. buy a lighter hood and lighter parts. you can drill this body to swiss cheese and its still gonna be pretty slow due to the v6.

Not trying to offend you but this is just my opinion

What's your end goal? Lighter to be a fast race car? Or cruiser? Why a sunroof? It will add weight.

God help you if that car is ever hit.

That interior sheet metal is there for a reason. These cars already have enough structural problems.

You better cage that car stat.
