Wheel sizes??

I have an ‘84 Z28. Does anybody know what is the max wheel size I can put on the car without having to mod anything. Stock suspension (rebuilt) all the way around. It’s got 15x7 now but those are baby pizza cutters and gotta go. Thanks for any advice!!

I put 16 X 8, 245/50-16 back in the '80's. They fit great, but they rubbed in front at full lock until I put an IROC steering box in, that fixed it.

I just put 17x9.5 CTW wheels on my GTA. No modifications needed.

87Z, 17X9 with 5.5 offset on rear and 17X8 with i think 5 inch offset in front. 275 40 17 rear/245 45 17 front. The rear housing is off a 1998 Camaro.

I think you're confusing "offset" with back-spacing.
Your front tires are slightly taller than the rears...

Re: Wheel sizes??

Correct, back spacing is what I meant. And yes, the front is taller. Not by much considering its a 245 vs. 275.

Re: Wheel sizes??

If hitting a few spots with a hammer doesn't count as modding, you can go as wide as 18x11 with the wheels and fit some brands 315/30/18. Far less expensive to stop at 17x9.5 and run a 275/40/17 though.

Re: Wheel sizes??

I recently put CTW's on as well along with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's 275/40 17.
