SLP Firehawk Cam

SLP still sells it, but I don't know of many people who have it. It's 214/224 with a 115 lsa, .470/.490. It made 350 horse on the firehawk, so I'm curious as to how it performs with a tpi or SuperRam on top? Post your opinions.

IS it the original 92 firehawk cam .... then didn't it already sit with tpi????

SLP designed that for the T-Ram which was way better flowing than a TPI intake (T-Ram added 30hp) If your running stock TPI don't expect much.

I am talking about tpi in the conventional mass production sense, not the t-ram intake.

SLP lists the cam as a 218/224. I just want to know how the thing would perform with a SuperRam or Hi-flow LTR's.

Seems like it would work fairly well with tpi. The 115Lsa might not even give ya computer problems. Id like to hear how this works with tpi.

Looks exactly like the Comp XR269HR to me, ground on a 115 LSA. You can get it from comp a little cheaper too.

I'm running the SLP 51006 in a 383 with SLP runners and Accel intake, SRP 11:1, and TFS 23 degree heads.

I can't say it's the ideal setup yet, (and won't claim any 1/4 times because I haven't been to the track) but with considerable PROM tuning it seems to be making respectable power and is very computer friendly and has a very "streetable" power range. It's absolutely a pleasure to drive in a '89 GMC Step side pickup. It also has a very noticable lope at 725 RPM but idles stable.

The cam is not exactly sold as you specified it came out in the Firehawk though. SLP lists it as:

in: .495" 270 218
ex: .502" 276 224

It has 114 LSA and is ground 3 degree advanced.
