TPI Swap help
I am swapping the TBI on my 91 RS to SD TPI from a 90 bird.
I have the harness in the car and have noticed the pinouts on a connector are different from the old harness, however I cannot figure out what this connector is for. Can anyone tell me what is the white fourth connector by the three ecm connector is for, and where i can find a pinout for that connector? I cannot continue until I figure this out. I have looked everywhere....

What type of harness is it? Is it a flat or square connector and how many terminals?

Sounds like the I/P connector for the right hand side of the dash.

Check the info carefully against your setup to be sure the pinouts match.

Thanks for the link that was just what I needed.
Just one more thing, anyone have the pinouts for the other side of the connector. the one in the car for an LO3 car. That way I know which wires are going to have to be repined,

That's why its good to check them agaist YOUR car.
There are alot of variances but most have the same functions, just on different pins.

OK
I have pins A- J figured out, also I have Pins L and N figured out
pin K on the car is VSS related no pin on harness side that I could find, also pin R on car is Vss related but no pin on harness I could find.
Pin M on harness is ecm ground but I do not know what it is on the car side the wire is orange so I don't think its ground.
PIN P on harness a red wire- I have know clue what its for.
Please help me with these this is the last thing I have to finish for the swap before I start trying to start it and burn chips.

orange is "usually" ECM backup power.
The red one has me stumped. I'll look through some more notes.
FOUND IT !
P= (red wire) is the VSS to curise control module.
J= orange could be serial data output from the ecm to the ALDL pins M & E both connected to it.

download this file (Ms word doc) it has some 90-92 wire diagrams.
OK its fixed and works now.

Those diagrams are for a 90 IIRC, don't take them as gospel but should provide some good info.

I am having some issues with this connector on my 91 that was originally a TBI 305, swapped to a DFI setup and I am now changing it to a SD TPI 730 setup.
Problem here: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=242358
The link for the 90 wiring diagram is not working...could anyone email me the applicable schematic?
TIA,

My web site is stacked with stuff and the links to the above docs aren't working.
Send me an email and I'll be glad to send anyone the info.

Links put back up
If you were trying to get the docs and info from the above links, use this one.
http://www.wideopenwest.com/~johnand...TESS/Monte.htm
I put the items on a quick page so I can add to it later without reconstructing the addresses.
Links are at the bottom.
